Kurogane opened his eyes slowly, still half asleep.
"You're awake, Kurgy."
"Yeah." Kurogane had gotten used to Fai, with his annoying nicknames and habit of watching Kurogane sleep. Every morning the first thing he saw when he opened his eyes was a mess of pale blonde locks, calm cerulean eyes, and a pair of smiling, pink, lips.
Kurogane was even used to Fai's morning greeting:
"Kuro-tan, are you ever going to love me?"
Fai was looking down at him with his puppy face and sparkling azure eyes.
"I don't love you Fai, for the last time! How many times are you going ask me?" Kurogane sighed. He asked this question every single morning. And it always went the same way:
"Until you say yes, Kuro-puu," Fai would purr back.
"Well it's forever never." Kurogane would reply.
"Are you sure about that, Kuro-rin?" Fai would smirk.
And Kurogane simply grunt, "Yes, I'm sure."
And then their morning conversation would end, and they would head out to once again search for Sakura's feathers.
But this morning it was different.
After the 'yes, I'm sure,' Fai replied, "What does forever never mean?"
Kurogane was taken aback by the extra phrase, but soon snapped back and replied, "It means that I will forever never love you."
"And I will forever never not love you, Kuro-tan."
Then Fai tried something completely different. Kurogane was not used to this tactic of Fai's, since he's never used it before.
Fai leaned in and gave Kurogane a peck on the lips.
And you know what? Kurogane kind of liked it.
Fai retreated and said a familiar phrase:
"Kuro-tan, are you ever going to love me?"
But Kurogane had a new reply for him.
"I will forever never not love you."
And then Kurogane leaned in and returned the kiss.
