A/N: The weather is dictating my moods lately; a side effect of spring. So I thought I'd offer this up, siphon off pent up creative energies, or something. Also, it's been a really long time since I've written anything.
I don't know if a drabble counts as breaking a nine month hiatus, but it's got to be good for something, right?
Disclaimer: The usual drill; don't own it, am making no money from it.
Dedication: To the weather, in hopes that this rain will go away and give me my spring back.
Enjoy!

It's raining heavily when Kyou and Tohru start for home, and he watches them go. Tohru reaches for Kyou's hand, and he takes hers, without hesitating. Kazuma smiles, happy, and so relieved.
But then they disappear into the rain. Old persistent doubts reappear, and he turns away from the window.
The risk was necessary, worth it, in the end. But the rain drums on the windows, and he's terribly aware of how close he came to losing everything. Still, ghosts of that earlier desperation remind him he had no choice.
But the rain reminds him he had no right, either.
