"Owww!" Dixie yelled stepping on a rock "Grrrr!" She said rubbing her paw on the ground. "I hate this!" Dixie yelled. "Hey Dixie girl come on!" Lyle called. "Bark." Dixie replied as she turned and started walking towards the bus.

"Hey Dixie, you ok?" Cash asked. "No, I don't feel like myself, I don't know why." Dixie said on the verge of tears. "Well, just think, we're big stars now and you know who we're gonna see soon right?" Cash asked. "No, who?" Dixie asked. "Copper and Todd, remember the fox and the dog who could sang?" "Oh right, sorry, I forgot." Dixie said walking up the bus steps.

Everyoe, but Dixie and Lyle were awake on the bus as the night sky zoomed by. Dixie propped her head on the window and looked at the stars. A shooting star zoomed by in the sky and Dixie's head shot up.

"I wish I could see life differently." Dixie said closing her eyes.

The next morning Dixie groggily climbed off her bed and walked to the back of the bus where her mirror was. Dixie stretched and yawned and opened her eyes a little wider and saw, not her face, but a human's face staring back at her.

"AHHH!" Dixie screamed. Her red orange hair was pulled back into a black bow and she was wearing blue jeans and a flannel shirt. "What happened?" Dixie asked touching her face. Emerald green eyes were staring back at her and she was amazed she could see in color.

"What happened? I was a dog and now I'm a human? This doesn't make any sense." Dixie said. "Cash! Dixie! Rose! Floyd and Waylon come on!" Lyle yelled. "Uh oh! What am I gonna do?" Dixie said.

Dixie walked out of the bathroom and the first person to see her was Cash. "Cash!" Dixie yelled. Cash gave the stranger a weird look and backed away. "Cash, it's me Dixie, I just ain't a dog." Dixie said. Cash's eyes grew wide and he started getting closer to her.

"I know you must think this is stupid, but it's me, Dixie the diva." She smiled. "I can't believe it." Cash said, but to Dixie, he was barking. "Oh no, I've lost my abilaty to hear dogs talk!" Dixie cried sitting on the pink sofa.

"Hey watch it!" Granny Rose yelled. Dixie heard her yelp and got up quickly. "Sorry Granny, I didn't mean to." Dixie apologized. Granny Rose gave her an estranged look and hopped off the couch and began barking at her.

"Granny Rose, it's Dixie, but she's a human." Cash explained. "How are you so sure it's her?" Granny asked. Cash pulled at the bottom of Dixie's jeans and Granny saw the mark where the rock had bruised her foot.

"Why did you do that?" Dixie asked. "Hey guys we gotta..." Lyle said looking at the woman on his bus. "Uhh, I'm sorry, who are you?" Lyle asked. "I'm Dixie." She answered. "Well, I'm sorry, but I'm gonna have to ask you to leave." Lyle said.

"Well, where are yall headed?" Dixie asked. "We're headed for the Smokey Mountains to the state fair they are having there, why?" "I need to get up there to see a friend, you may kow her, Ms. Tweed?" Dixie asked. "Of chorus I know her! We'll take you there, but first would you like some new clothes, I think we can spare a few dollars for our new friend, but can I ask you something?" Lyle asked.

"Sure, what?" "Have you seen my dog Dixie anywhere? I have no clue where she is." "Yeah, she was in there asleep, so I guess it's good to leave her be, and let's get goin'." Dixie said.

"Ok well we'll run into town and get you some clothes ok?" Lyle asked. "Ok." Dixie agreed.

Dixie had no idea what she was going to do, she was into so much trouble, she had to unwish that wish and turn back into a dog again, but how and who was gonna help her?
