Blaine stepped onto the platform as the train pulled in. He was starting a new job at a coffee shop in town and this was the first time he is going by this train. After high school, he had wanted to go to New York but his dreams were put on hold after he was kicked out. Flash forward two years and here he was: living with his friends Wes and David and taking any job he could get. He puts in his Ipod to try and drown out his thoughts as he steps onto the train.
He works his way to the back of the train so he can sit alone. He doesn't really feel like being around anyone else. The train starts moving and he watches as the world around him starts to spin. He stares out the window trying to think of anything else but his life.
The train slows as it comes to its next stop. Blaine looked up as people entered the train and noticed a young man sitting across from. His eyes widened. He was staring at the most beautiful boy he had ever seen. His hair was perfectly styled and his eyes were bright. Blaine could tell he was into fashion based of the amazing outfit he had on. He, too, was listening to his Ipod and concentrating very hard at writing in his notebook. Blaine spent most of the rest of the train ride trying not to stare thought he failed miserably. The train arrived at his stop and he gathered his things. Blaine noticed the boy was getting off at the same stop. As he got off the train, he watched to the boy walking away in the opposite direction and he desperately hoped that wouldn't be the last time he saw him.
The next day, Blaine got to the train station early. He kept an eye out for the brown-haired boy as the train pulled into the station. He was just about to give up hope when he stepped onto the train and the boy ran in not long after he did. He watched as the boy sat down a row away from him breathing heavily. Blaine smiled to himself as the boy pulled out his notebook and began writing like he had the day before. Maybe this job won't be that bad Blaine thought to himself.
One month later
Blaine got in the habit of arriving early to the train station. Every day, without fail, the brown-haired boy would arrive 10 minutes before the train arrived and buy a coffee at the coffee cart. Blaine would watch him every time trying to muster the courage to go talk to him. Every time he got close, he got freaked out and ran the other way.
Today is the day Blaine thought to himself. He took a deep breath and started walking toward the coffee stand.
"One grande nonfat mocha please," the boy said.
Blaine froze at hearing his voice. It was beautiful. He quickly turned around and walked the other direction. He cursed himself and stepped onto the train as it pulled in. He pulled out his Ipod and put on Wicked to try and distract himself. Defying Gravity came on and he quickly got lost in it. He started humming along until it randomly stopped. He looked down and realized his Ipod was dead. He sighed in frustration until he heard something. He could hear someone humming – not just anything, they were humming Defying Gravity. He looked up and saw the brown-haired boy humming to himself while he wrote in his notebook. The boy stopped when he noticed Blaine staring at him.
"Sorry," he said shyly, "I love that song and your Ipod was up kind of loud." He smiled at Blaine, clearly embarrassed. Blaine stared at him a while before saying anything. He was so beautiful.
"Don't worry about it," Baine finally replied.
"I see you on here a lot," the boy said. "Do you live around here?"
" I work at a coffee shop downtown," Blaine said.
The train came to a stop and the boy looked out the window.
"I guess I'll see you tomorrow morning," he said as he smiled at Blaine.
Blaine watched as he walked out and disappeared into the crowd. He couldn't wait until tomorrow.
