(So I've been almost studying snow when I'm on my way home. I started writing this, and then I started writing one about Haru and Rin. I decided I had enough ideas to do some fics for the pairings in Fruits Basket because my last fruits basket fic was one of the biggest fails of life. It was the first thing I ever wrote on this site and therefor sucks. So this is my attempt at amending it. If you have any requests at all feel absolutely free to give them to me. I adore when people want to see other pairings or what not. :) Hope you enjoy my first chapter which is a "one-sided" Kana Hatori.)

"As soon go kindle fire with snow, as seek to quench the fire of love with words."

~William Shakespeare~

Words Never Spoken

She was waiting. She had no idea for what. All she knew was that she had to wait here.

The chilling flakes of snow fell gently from the sky, sprinkling themselves along the pavement and in her hair, sticking to her lashes, biting at her skin. She blew out a breathe of air, watching it materialize in front of her and just as quickly vanish.

"He'll come." but who. Who was "he"? Kana sighed. She shoved her gloved hands into her pocket and shifted her weight. Her cell phone lit up, showing her husbands name on the ID.

"Hey" she smiled as she heard his voice.

"Hey, are you going to be home soon."

Kana was silent for a moment. She bit her lip before responding.

"Of course. Give me an hour."

"Alright, see you then. I love you."

She nodded. "Love you too. See you tonight."

"One hour." She sighed, flipping the phone shut quickly. She flopped down on the bench and put her head in her hand. Why on earth was she here?

She suddenly saw a familiar face from the corner of her eye.

"No!" She gasped, her face breaking into a grin. "I'm surprised you aren't working! You never were one for breaks." Kana nudged him gently.

Hatori was swallowing his shock, keeping the cool composure he always had. He didn't want to risk her remembering, not after she was already so happy, not after she had finally forgotten. He had to keep those memories shut tightly, far away from her present mind.

"Kana. It's been a long time." He said, his face like stone.

She sighed. "It has been a while. You seem well though." This seemed to bring her some sense of joy.

Hatori nodded. "I heard you were married."

Kana laughed, nodding. "I am!" She pulled her left hand up to reveal the ring.

Hatori nodded.

"Sorry!" She giggled. "I forgot that men don't usually find the amusement that girls do in jewelry."

But she was so far from a girl, still the same happy, bright women he knew and loved. Still his spring.

"It's alright." Hatori amended.

Kana took a step towards him, her eyes examining his. "What happened? Did... I feel like I should know but did something happen to your eye?"

Hatori sucked in a breath. "Yes. A while back there was an... accident. One of my patients got a bit angry."

"That's terrible!" Kana shook her head.

He glanced at his watch. Those memories, they were so close to the surface, he could see the confusion in her eyes.

"Work again, right?" Kana guessed.

Hatori didn't say anything in response. She smiled.

"Do you ever take some time for yourself?" Kana scolded. Hatori watched her as she pushed a strand of hair behind her ear.

"I'll be going. It was very nice to see you!" Kana laughed. She bowed and turned on her heels to walk away.

"Hatori-sama?" Kana turned to look at him. He sighed, his mouth twitching into a smile, that is if Hatori ever did smile.

"Yes?"

Kana blushed. "I always had a crush on you."

Hatori closed his eyes, turning away from her.

"I know." He whispered. She looked up, not sure if she heard right but he was walking away.

"Good bye Kana."
