This is my poem for The Hunger Games called Nightlock. Enjoy.

Dark berries

Indigo in the sparkling sun

Golden rays cause the skin to glisten

And I know they must be from Heaven

For they provide my only escape

And here beside me sits

The boy who saved my life

And who will journey along side me

As I consume my subtle death

And him as my last sight

And, at last, I feel the cool caress

And smell the putridness, thick and lingering

Entering my mouth

Like the poisoned apple of tales long lost

The berries that will spare my name of this world

But the poison they contain never hits my tongue

A man's voice, worried and frantic, stops me

The berries leap from my mouth

As a grin finds it's place on my lips

And I'm free once again.
