Closing my eyes I saw the words forming… Everything I wrote was true, either it had happened to me or someone I knew. I started humming, minutes later words started appearing, one by one! I grabbed a pencil and started writing:

Cover up with make up in the mirror
tell yourself it's never gonna happen again
you cry alone and then he swears he loves you.

I stopped for a brief moment when more of the lyrics started appearing, I know knew who this was about; it was about my mother I had seen my father abusing her while I was only seven. That always moment always stayed in my heart. The feelings always their, be it deep down or right on the surface, next to the walls that I had built over time.

Do you feel like a man
when you push her around?
Do you feel better now as she falls to the ground?
Well I'll tell you my friend, one day this world's going to end
as your lies crumble down, a new life she has found.

A pebble in the water makes a ripple effect
every action in this world will bear a consequence
If you wade around forever you will surely drown
I see what's going down.

I see the way you go and say your right again,
say your right again
heed my lecture

Do you feel like a man
when you push her around?
Do you feel better now as she falls to the ground?
Well I'll tell you my friend, one day this world's going to end
as your lies crumble down a new life she has.

I stop writing again, remembering the time when my mother actually left. She was sick of all the hitting and abuse so one day, she packed up and left, just like that. Not thinking about me or what was going to happen to me now that she wasn't going to be their to protect me

Face down in the dirt she says, this doesn't hurt she says I finally had enough..

Face down in the dirt she says, this doesn't hurt she says I finally had enough..

One day she will tell you that she has had enough
its coming round again.

Do you feel like a man, when you push her around?
Do you feel better now as she falls to the ground?
Well I'll tell you my friend, one day this world's going to end
as your lies crumble down, a new life she has.

Do you feel like a man, when you push her around?
Do you feel better now as she falls to the ground?
Well I'll tell you my friend, one day this world's going to end
as your lies crumble down, a new life she has.

Face down in the dirt she says, this doesn't hurt she says I finally had enough…

Once I had finished with the song I looked back at the words, I took my guitar and started strumming the strings. The notes showing the emotion of the song. I had the perfect song now and that had happened in just one night. This wasn't unusual to me most nights I would go to bed and I'd wake up in the middle of the night with an idea. I would scribble it down and make the perfect song out of it. Not taking a break until I was finished. I didn't go back to sleep until I had gotten it perfect then I would go back to sleep knowing that in the morning there was a fresh song waiting for me.
