The vibrant, heart-shaped moon hung infinitely over the World that Never Was, illuminating the Nobodies in their non-existent lives. They were all dedicated to Kingdom Hearts, in one way or another: through obligation, intimidation, or genuine hope – if Nobodies could feel the sensation of hope.

Saix and Xemnas were the most loyal to that strange moon, the ones who had the most hope in it. Saix was also unwavering loyal to Xemnas, to a point of near obsession; any and everything would be done for Xemnas. Anything Xemnas wanted, Saix would do, without question. If Xemnas said jump, Saix didn't ask how high – Xemnas expected him to know. Saix was ever faithful, doing whatever he could to please his Superior. When Xemnas was content, a general peace settled over the Castle that Never Was – and that was how Saix liked it.

It was serene under the nearly full Kingdom Hearts, and Saix peacefully stood on a large balcony with Xemnas, just a little behind him, and never touching. The other Nobodies suspected that the Superior's relationship with VII was more than simply that of Superior and subordinate, but no one dared mention it to the Berserker or Xemnas.

Saix occasionally wondered if Xemnas ever chose to acknowledge their… whatever it was they shared. Perhaps Saix was simply a convenient and willing form of release – but then again, Xemnas could forcefully take whatever he wanted from the other members of the Organization. Saix always felt something like smugness when the thought of it that way.

But then his thoughts would stray to the surreal moon above them. Obviously their goal was important to Xemnas – but was it more important than Saix? The Luna Diviner couldn't help but burn with something that might have been jealousy, if he had possessed true emotions. Saix barely withheld a growl.

Xemnas inclined his head slightly, looking back at Saix.

"Is the light affecting you?" he asked mildly.

"No, Superior," Saix replied, his tone carefully polite.

Xemnas simply nodded, then look back to the moon.

Saix frowned, mentally chastising himself for such foolish thinking. Kingdom Hearts was their main focus, and they were pouring their non-existences into this focus – of course it was most important to Xemnas.

However, some vague – jealous? – part of Saix wished that it wasn't, was convinced that it shouldn't be.

But one glance at his Superior's face, and all those ridiculous thoughts were set aside, and Saix calmed once more.

Xemnas was content, and that enough for Saix.
