At the edge of the Forbidden Forest, a witch peered out at Hogwarts. She
was squat, and her wand was shaking with rage. Her robes were torn and
tattered, and her usually combed hair was caked with dirt and twigs. Her
beady little eyes were surveying the area with extreme caution. If anyone
caught wind of her on grounds... But now she didn't need to worry about
it. She had been travelling the forest for the past two weeks, blasting
apart any creature she came upon. Especially centaurs. But only one thing
stayed on her mind, and that was how she was going to kill the little
Granger mudblood. From her portable WWN (Wizards Wireless Network) she was
able to learn that he-who-must-not-be-named was certainly back, and she
would leave Potter's death to him... she only wanted Granger.
She was only a little less than 100 yards from the half-breed Hagrid's house. She could easily stun him and keep him down until term started. With her dirt caked fingernails clutching her wand, she took a step out of the forest. For the first time in two weeks, moonlight hit her face. For the first time in two weeks, she had to squint her eyes to see. Living for two weeks by the "lumos" spell can do damage to the eyes. Her skin was so pale that her veins were visible in her neck, and her hair was almost halfway down her back. She had scratches and bruises from her head all the way down to her toes.
When nothing happened, she began running as fast as her little legs would carry her. She felt so sure all her trouble would be over now... she was out of that acursed forest. Nothing could stop her now. She was three feet from Hagrids window when Fang began barking.
"What is it Fang? D'yah smell summaht? Allrigh'! Stop yer barkin'. I'll go an' check it out." The witch was in trouble now. There was nowhere to go. Unless........
She stuck out her wand right in front of her. When Hagrid came out his hut, he would get a little surprise. The doorknob twisted a little. Then... BANG! A large bus appeared out of no where. As the door opened, a very pimply faced man held out his hand for her. "Welcome aboard the Knight Bus, miss. Golly, you sure look tored up." With that, she pointed her wand in between the attendants eyes.
"I am Delores Umbridge, and you will take me to Diagon Alley immediatly." Across the country, Harry Potter was just waking up, not realizing that one of his best friends was in more danger than he ever thought possible.
