I own nothing but my own Ideas
Jordan was the one who knew her place in the world. She was strong, an elite. She was special, her commanders favorite. She was the best, and did what the commander asked her to. She may be the best, but he knew best.
JD was a mess. JD didn't know what she was doing in the world. The world didn't know what to do with JD. So she ran.
Jordan was an assassin. She loved the high, the power of the kill. Jordan was merciless. She loved her power.
JD was scared. The thought of her power terrified her. What she could do repulsed her. She was terrified of the kill. If she could have, she would have buried it in the deepest pit and forgotten about it.
Jordan was a leader. Jordan was an example of who you wanted to be at the institute. What Jordan said, people did. Jordan was the perfect soldier
JD at best was a leader when she had knowledge. She was impulsive and tried to lead her own life. But most of the time she listened and followed Daniel. She was one who never knew when to act and when to listen.
Jordan was cautious. She liked to know the odds. She didn't like strangers, and liked to know things upfront. She knew she was being used. She didn't mind. She would have done it willingly.
JD trusted too easily. JD had no reason to believe otherwise. JD was betrayed more times in 6 moths then Jordan had ever been in her entire life.
Jordan didn't have friends. Jordan had acquaintances. Acquaintances couldn't drag you down.
JD was semimetal. JD would risk anything for other people, when Jordan would have cut and run.
If Jordan had met JD in a dark ally she would have killed her without hesitation.
If JD had met Jordan in a dark ally she would defiantly hesitated. She would have fought her from survival instincts. On the off chance she won, she would have become depressed at what sort of person she was in the past. There was a good chance it would have lead to suicide. For her own peace of mind, it is a relief she never would.
Dr. Mersenne did not like who Jordan had become. This wasn't the life she had wanted for her child. This wasn't the type of child she wanted. She wanted a clean start. Well as clean as it could be with all of the secrets.
Jordan wasn't sure why Dr. Mersenne had a Syringe in her arm. She was allowed to, but she didn't remember this in the briefing, and it felt wrong. Jordan went down from trusting. Not from a friend like she feared, but from trusting authority.
When the brain loses memory it creates a new persona, different from the original. The drug would symbolically kill the memory of Jordan. She hoped she could put a better person in Jordan's place.
JD wasn't sure why she went with Dr. Mersenne . Whether she was actually her mother or not, she had learned one important thing. Mersenne was a good liar, and shouldn't be trusted.
Whether Dr. Mersenne told the truth or not, JD would never believe her. In some ways that was for the best. Sykes was right about one thing. He had created something different. Neither Jordan nor JD would ever fit into the real world. They weren't built for that.
There is not nearly enough Chasing Yesterday fic. I decided to add to it
