Bingo Slot (75) {Character} Archie
"You are telling me that you expect Betty and I to fight tooth and nail for you?" Veronica leaned forward with steel in her eyes.
"Yeah of course." Archie shrugged his shoulders. "Why not?" He didn't see any problems with what he had just told both girls.
Veronica's head tilted to the right. "You think that much of yourself don't you Archie Andrews?" Her hands clenched at her sides. "Not only do you know now that your child hood best friend had been in love with you for years now. That she finally had the courage to tell you ... that you seriously brushed it off. Then mere hours later you decided to press for a make out session with me in a closet ... fully knowing that childhood friend was just right outside the closet door!"
Archie held up a firm hand. "Hey now I didn't press for the make out session. We both wanted it." He quickly pointed out.
Betty sat silently as she stared from her childhood best friend over to her newest female best friend; as they went through a fast pace volley match. Only thing was Archie simply wasn't getting it. That Veronica very truly was in a deep and raw anger against him. All due to her protecting her. Yeah she agreed what Archie had said was cruel ... but Archie truly wasn't thinking ... his hormones were talking here ... Archie would never ever suggest this in a million years.
Veronica's eyes snapped across to stare into Betty's confused blue green eyes. "Don't give him a free pass here Betty." She growled low in her throat.
"Hey now." Archie broke in. "Don't you dare try to turn Betty against me."
Veronica eyes swung back at the sixteen year old red headed. "You better listen real carefully here Archie. I'm only going to say this once. Do not use Betty. Do not use the knowledge that she has romantic and true feelings for you against her. Don't play around with it. Don't joke about it."
Archie's face paled as he finally realized that Veronica was deadly serious here.
"If you don't want to destroy your friendship with her ... then you better stop trying to be hormonal teenage male here." Veronica's eyes were steel as she stared into Archie's eyes. "Don't be that guy."
Archie swallowed. His eyes turned to Betty's and he saw how truly broken she was. His eyes lowered to his lap as his heart and soul broke.
"Arch?" Betty's soft voice spoke in the tense silence.
Archie lifted his head and met her eyes. "I'm sorry Betty. I never meant to hurt you." A tear rolled down his left cheek. "I never once ..."
Betty moved over to sit next to him. Her arms wrapped around him as she pulled her best friend into a tight hug. His arms wrapped around her tightly as he squeezed her more tightly into him. Her hand rose to smooth down the back of his hair down to his neck.
