It was 2pm when the doorbell rang at Number Twelve Grimmauld Place. Before Ginny could reach the door, thirteen year old James came thundering down the stairs hollering "I've got it!" He skidded in front of his mother and pulled open the door just in time for Ginny to see little Alice Longbottom waiting on the top step.

"Hi," she beamed at James.

"Hi," he smiled back, purposefully leaning against the door in a nonchalant manner.

Ginny wryly smiled before intruding the scene, "Hi, Alice, how are you?"

James scowled as he stepped back to allow his mom to open the door wider. Alice stepped inside.

"We weren't expecting you. What a nice surprise! How are your parents?"

"They're good," she responded politely.

"Come on Alice," James said motioning her toward the stairs. "You don't have to answer any more of my mom's boring questions," and he started taking the stairs two by two before Ginny had a chance to chide him. Alice quickly following behind.

"Who was at the door?" Harry asked sitting at the kitchen table looking over a stack of papers with a cup of tea.

"Alice Longbottom," Ginny cooed saddling up next to him on the table bench. "I think James has himself a little crush."

"A crush? He's too young to have a crush," Harry commented, his attention still on the paperwork.

"Oh, I don't know. I had a pretty big crush on you when I was his age," Ginny smirked, nudging her shoulder against his.

Harry looked away from his paper and down at her, "Yes, but that was me wasn't it," he smiled cockily.

"Please," Ginny laughed giving him a good shove.

Harry grabbed Ginny's shoulders as if to retaliate, but quickly turned it into a bear hug. "Think we should check in on them?" he asked into Ginny's neck.

Ginny leaned into Harry and took a deep breathe. "No," she sighed in response, before turning her head towards him.

"Hhh-mmm what did you have in mind instead, Mrs. Potter?" Harry asked moving his face closer to hers.

They're lips were about to touch when there was a creak at the kitchen door and a loud "Eeeeeewwwww!"

Harry and Ginny immediately jumped apart.

"Honestly," James breathed out disgustedly. "Can you guys at least shut the door. Come on, Alice," he added, turning to the feverishly blushing girl. "I know for a fact Teddy keeps chocolate frogs hidden in his room."
