Namarie (Farewell)
(Legolas wanted Aragorn to know what he meant to him, so before sailing into the west with Gimli, Legolas wrote a letter to Aragorn.)
(Set 9 Months After The Ring Was Destroyed)
Sitting in his study Aragorn had been reading, a letter from Legolas a final farewell as he was leaving middle earth as was Gimli.
Dearest King Estel
We have fought many dangers together, and travelled all over middle earth I will never forget those times. I wish you and Arwen many happiness, please do not be said that I am leaving for you must move forward.
I know in my deepest heart that you will, be a great king and leader of your people.
The only thing that saddens me is, that I will not get to see the great things you will do in your reign.
There is something I must tell you though, I am finding it hard to find the words. You once asked me if I had loved any one, as much as I had loved Tauriel, I never actually gave you an answer Mellon Nin.
But now the words are coming up from my heart, there is only one another I felt that way about and it was you dear Aragorn.
I only decided to tell you this as I am leaving these shores, as you know I do not leave alone Gimli travels with me.
You belong with Arwen that was written in the stars, long before our love was yes. I know you love me but believe me it's better this way.
As these are my last words to you, I thought it be wise to make this letter rather long in length.
Please don't try to come as we leave, it's better this way for this is not a sad parting but letting go so we can move forward.
As you know you were the only person I told, about Tauriel and how she was killed by an orc that pain still takes hold of my heart. But I wanted you to know that being around you, has eased that pain somewhat.
Thank you for being the best friend I could ever have, Gimli wanted me to thank you as well for treating as a friend.
I do not like to think of this as a Namarie, for I will never get you as you are always in my ore (Heart).
Yours Truly Prince Legolas Of Mirkwood
And Gimli Son Of Gloin
As Aragorn had finished reading the letter, Arwen had entered the study carrying the newborn son. Putting the letter down Aragorn stood up to, go over to Arwen and he held their son in his arms.
"So it is true Legolas and Gimli have finally set sail? I will miss them as I know you will." Looking at his son Aragorn had not known, what to say at all but words did find him.
"Yes it's true they are sailing as we speak, but it's never really Namarie they are always in our hearts isn't that right Bandorion (Haven means Safe Place.)"
The two went over to the windows of the room, holding the baby and look out at the horizon. "White shores are calling, you and I will meet again and you'll be here safe in my arms."
Aragorn sang these words as the music played around them, and the scene began to fade.
Out far beyond to were the shore was, Legolas and Gimli had set sail and you could see a little boat sailing along.
The End.
