Inspired by Professor Layton vs Phoenix Write, a game I have recently beaten. I probably won't make this any more than a one arc/shot but who knows. If it gets popular I might start writing more. Well, I do hope that you enjoy!
I awoke to the sound of a slamming prison cell door. I looked up to see a black afro'd man, a journal and pen in hand. He was tall and skinny, wearing glasses and a black hat and suit. He seemed surprised to see me here.
"Levy McGarden?"
I looked up at the man, angry as hell. I growled out a yes. Or maybe I just growled. Regardless, he looked more surprised than scared. Then the bastard had to open his mouth again.
"I'm here to tell you that I'm to be your defense attorney. Thus I'll be needing any info or evidence you can give."
The man spoke with authority and power, like he was some metal dragon looking upon some village he controlled. But at the same time, a ring of kindness was hidden within the command.
"I ain't givin' you nothing!" I spat, glaring at him,"You just want my money and you don't give two SHITS about what happens to me!"
I should know. I've seen every lawyer in this damned city and I have learned because of it why all lawyers go to hell. But unlike many other lawyers, he did not glare back. He simply shook his head.
"Believe what you wish," he said,"but I do not accept money until you are proven not guilty. This means that I do infact care about your well being."
I looked up at him, bemused. What kind of lawyer was this?
...
I looked down upon the girl I was to defend. Just looking at her gave me the sudden urge to call her "bookworm" or "shrimp." The girl with the blue hair had been accused of nothing less than being a witch, a huge crime in Edolas.
I looked at her, almost smiling.
"If you aren't gonna give me it today, it's fine. I have all week," I said, turning towards the door.
"Listen, you bastard, you will NEVER come back. Got that?"
Closing the door behind me, I smiled, laughing.
"Gihi."
...
A week had gone by. No matter the visits though, Levy would not budge.
"Listen Bastard!"
"Its Gajeel..."
"You will stop bothering me! Even if what you said was true, it wouldn't matter! YOU CAN'T BE THAT GOOD. I've been proven again and again to be the bad guy in this story. I've been proven guilty for most every crime, and even this time:murder. Please, the only thing you will do by not pleading guilty is get me a longer sentence. Not leave."
Gajeel rose, and, being the gentleman he is, left. He almost wondered what would happen in court.
