A/N: So yeah, this story is from the viewpoints of different characters in Infinity War, mainly Peter Parker, because he's just too darn cute! Basically an AU of what could have happened in Infinity War. I was bored so I wrote this. Um... yeah. I say yeah too much.

Peter Parker:

So, um, yeah. As cool as it is fighting alongside the freakin Avengers, I would really rather be doing something else. Being a superhero is hard man. I don't like it as much as I thought I would. Of course, I might like it better, if, y'know. I wasn't the only one still fighting! I mean really! I'm the amateur here, aren't I supposed to be the one fuckin- sorry, messing everything up? I mean, yeah it sucks that Vision and that Gamora chick are dead- okay maybe sucks isn't the right word. But I'm up here keeping lookout whilst the Avengers and Guardians are at the mercy of Thanos. I dunno, he must have gotten hold of one of Toomes' alien weapons, because they're all trapped in these weird blue, wispy things. A bit like Scarlet Witch's red thing but, yeah. Blue instead of red. The gun that presumably shot the blue, wispy things is hovering in front of them. Not sure how, but it seems to be what's holding them in place. Pretty cool actually.

Maybe cool isn't the right word either.

It looks like Mr Stark is saying something to Thanos, but I can't hear what they're saying. I'm just casually sitting up here on the rooftop. Waiting for my signal. On second thoughts, am I getting a signal? It's not like Tony can call me over without Thanos noticing. God, why did this have to happen here, in New York. Queens of all places. I lost my mask a while ago, fighting this weird-ass green dude. Of course I said no to that Iron Spider suit, and left myself with this one. At least I can still contact Karen without my mask.

Okay, signal received. Mr Stark just yelled my name, and if that's not the signal, then I don't know what is. Sliding down the partially demolished building, I gracefully land on my toes in front of Thanos. Smiling I give a little wave, as I see the rest of the team smirk at the sight of me. Granted, I may be small, but that doesn't mean I can't take a punch. Which I have. Multiple times.

"Hey there," I say, shifting my weight from leg to leg. "You must be Thanos. I'm Peter Parker, but you can call me Spider-Man. Pleasure to meet you, sir." I stick out my hand in greeting, despite Thanos being several feet away.

"Remember that secret identity kid?" Mr Stark jokes, and I roll my eyes in response. I can feel my heart thudding under my suit, and sweat starts to pool on my forehead. Was Thanos always that tall? And scary? Tall and scary?

My eyes skim the ground, and I see the reality stone a few feet behind the big guy. he doesn't seem to have noticed it yet. Steve is jerking his head towards it- does he want me to grab it? I think he does. Is that even safe? If I drop it will it blow up? Oh God, what if it blows up? It could destroy frikkin New York!

I smile cheekily at Thanos, and he stares at me in confusion. I think he expects me to be afraid of him. Which I am. I'm fucki- freakin terrified! No way I'm letting him know that though. "So..." I mutter. "Seen any good movies lately?"

Tony Stark:

"So..." The kid mutters, a lazy smile crossing his face. "Seen any good movies lately?" Typical Parker. Always trying to lighten the mood. He rambles on, mainly talking to Thanos, who is yet to do or say anything. He probably finds the kid to darn cute to do anything. Yeah... maybe not.

It's pretty scary watching Pete talk to Thanos so casually. Like they're equals. I know what he's doing though, even if the others don't. He's trying to throw the game. Make Thanos drop his guard long enough for the kid to act. How he'll act though, I dunno. If he can just grab the stone he'll have the advantage. I keep my eyes on Peter as he moves around, Thanos turning with him, to keep Pete in his line of sight at all times. The entire time, Spidey talks about nothing throwing Thanos off even more.

Finally, Peter points to the side, saying something about Planet of the Apes, and Thanos turns to look at what he's pointing at. The second the raisin's not looking, the kid shoots out his web and grabs the time stone, flicking it behind his back, without Thanos realising. Myself and the rest of the Avengers- and Guardians I guess- gasp at Peter's nerve. And I thought stealth was Nat's thing.

Thanos turns back around at our gasps and glowers at us. Peter hadn't paused in his rambling. "Enough!" He eventually yells, leaving Peter looking like a little kid with his hand stuck in the cookie jar. Thanos' is turned away from us again, leaving Peter directly in front of me. "What is the meaning of this incessant speech?"

"Well..." Peter starts. He scratches the back of his head. "I guess you could say it's a diversionary tactic." He pulls out the reality stone from behind his back. That fucking kid.

Peter Parker:

"Well..." I say, scratching the back of my head. "I guess you could say it's a diversionary tactic." I pull the stone out from behind my back. Mr Stark stifles a laugh as Thanos' head gradually goes from purple to a sort of maroon-ish, red-ish color. Heh. Fun.

"Give it to me." His voice is quiet, eerily calm. It's freaky. Like when May is pissed at me she'll start of kinda calm and then burst.

"Yeah," I twirl the stone around in my fingers. "I don't think so."

"Give it to me." He says again, voice louder this time.

"Why are you repeating yourself? I answered you the first time." I probably shouldn't be winding him up. Oh well.

"I don't want to hurt you little spider. You are young. Just give me the stone and I may end your life swiftly."

"What do you define as 'swiftly'? 'Cause I have an advanced metabolism and it might take you a bit longer to kill me, than it would an average human."

Thanos breathes deeply. I can see the rest of the team holding their breath in agony. "Okay," The purple guy slowly says. "You give me the stone, or I kill all of them." He gestures at the Avengers and Guardians behind him. I see the racoon's eyes widen slightly.

"Okay," I say. Steve and Tony splutter in shock. "Or I could not do that." I see them relax again. "Is- is it my turn now?" Thanos frowns in confusion. "You let all of them go, or I destroy the stone." I smile, cocking-heh- my head to the side.

Thanos scoffs at me. Uh oh. "You do not have the power to destroy an Infinity Stone."

I swallow, nervous. I'm sweating. Was I sweating before? "Oh I know I don't." Everyone looks at each other. "But I know something that can. Don't underestimate me."

"He's right, you shouldn't underestimate him." Natasha calls out and Tony laughs. Thanos ignores her.

"And what is it that can destroy that stone?" He asks, shifting his big, gauntlet, thing up his arm a bit more. I wag my finger at him.

"Spoilers." I see Thanos clench his teeth is frustration. I have that effect on people.

"It seems we're at a stalemate." Thanos says eventually.

"I guess you could say that." I reply.

"I already told you that I don't want to injure you," he begins. My heart speeds up. "But it seems I have no other choice." He turns to this big scaly dude. "Kill him."

Natasha Romanoff:

"Kill him." Thanos says silkily. I feel my breath catch in my throat, as one of his henchmen begins to make his way towards Peter. He looks smaller than usual next to this monstrosity. The kid's eyes get bigger as he stumbles backwards. As- I don't know his name, let's just call him Scales- Scales charges at Peter, his massive fist coming down on top of him. I open my mouth to yell out a warning, but Peter just flips out of the way like it's no big deal. It goes on like that for a while, Spidey trying to use his webs to trap Scales, but Scales being to strong for them. After a couple of minutes, we all watch as Peter is flung away and hits the concrete wall with a sickening crack. Instead of sticking to the wall however, he slides down it with a grunt.

Scales trudges towards Peter, who is lying against the wall, hand cradling the back of his head. I can't breathe. Eventually, the kid lifts up his arm, but instead of shooting webs at him, a hologram appears above his web shooting thing. He rotates the hologram, and I assume he finds what he's looking for, as he fires off blue-ish webs that crackle with electricity at Scales. I look over to Stark. "Taser webs," he mouths at me. Looking back at Scales I laugh slightly, as all of him muscles convulse, and he drops to the ground breathing heavily. Peter gets up slowly, and webs him up- with his usual webs- leaving him too weak to break out of them.

Smart kid.

I wonder why he didn't do that before though.

Peter Parker:

Why didn't I do that before? I limp over to where Thanos is and stand several feet away from him. "So..." I pause for dramatic effect. "Did I win?" Thanos visibly grits his teeth, and starts to walk towards me,but I pull out the stone from my pocket and dangle it away from him. "Nuh, uh, uh," I chastise. He stops. "Let them go, or I destroy the stone."

For some reason, Thanos smiles at this. I'm sweating again. Damn puberty. "I think it's time for my counter offer." What?

"Go ahead." I say.

"Whilst you were fighting Cull Obsidian over there, I took the liberty to do a little... research." He smiles widely, and pulls out one of Mr Stark's tablets. A hologram appears above it. Of my file. "Where to begin," he drawls, scrolling through it. "An orphan, top of your class, you live with your Uncle and Aunt- sorry lived with your Uncle and Aunt. You now live all alone with your Aunt May in a shabby apartment, right here in Queens."

"Hey, I resent that," I say, acting braver than I fucking feel, "It may be cheap, but it's not shabby."

"And as we've been having this conversation, I sent one of my trusted soldiers to retrieve your Aunt. And they should be here right now." I feel the color drain out of my face as May is dragged into the fray. With a sword pressed against her neck.

"Peter?" She calls out, struggling against her captor. "What's going on?"

"It's all fine May," I try to reassure her, "It's all going to be fine." I swallow thickly, and already I can feel my eyes burning with tears. "Let her go." I say to Thanos.

"If you give me the stone I will," he says slowly in his calm voice. "I don't want to hurt anyone."

"LET HER GO!" I scream, starting to run towards him, but I'm forced to stop. He points to May, and the henchman holding her presses the sword harder against her throat.

"Any move towards me will result in the death of May Parker."

Steve Rogers:

"LET HER GO" The kid screams, dashing towards Thanos. He stops though, as his Aunts life is threatened further. I've never heard Peter shout before, nor have I ever seen such rage in his eyes. It's frightening.

"Any move towards me will result in the death of May Parker." Peter is visibly trembling, as his eyes dart between us, Thanos and his Aunt. "So, my counter offer," Thanos says. "Your Aunt's life for the stone."

The young boy's breathing becomes ragged, as he stares at May. "Don't Peter," she says quietly, "I don't have a fucking clue what's going on, but don't do anything he says."

"Do you really want to lose the only family you have young spider?" Thanos asks.

"She's not the only family he has," I say, speaking for the first time what seems like forever. "He has us."

I'm ignored, as Thanos continues to stare at Peter. "You have ten seconds to make your decision." He says. "Ten, nine, eight..." he says slowly. Peter looks wildly between Thanos and May, trying to make his choice.

"Peter? Peter look at me," May says, staring intently at her nephew. "I love you Petey, It's been the best time of my life looking after you."

Peter shakes his head, tears pooling in his eyes. "Three, two, one-" Thanos stops, and stares at the kid. "Well," he says, "I really thought you'd choose to spare her life. I suppose I was wrong." He nodded to the person holding May, who nodded in response. Without a moments hesitation, he plunges the sword through May's stomach.

Tony Stark:

Shit, shit, shit, fucking shit! Everything seems to be going in slow motion, as Thanos drops his head slightly; Peter screams, and charges towards May, and catches her falling body; the person who stabbed her runs off; the little gasp May gave as she felt the sword pierce her body. Peter tries to stop the bleeding with his hand, even though he can see it's doing nothing. He scrambles to find a pulse, head drooping, presumably as he failed to find one. Grief courses through me- I liked May. She was kind, and funny, and a great parent to the kid. And now... she's gone.

Suddenly everything moves in a blur, as Peter jumps up, and runs to where Thor's new weapon lies. Impossibly, the kid lifts it, and brings in down on the reality stone. Thanos roars, and he grabs Peter by the neck, slamming him against a wall. "You think you've won, little spider." He hisses. "You forget who you're going up against." In retaliation, Peter flips up his middle finger at Thanos, who shows him to the ground. The kid lies there, too grief stricken to do anything.

Thanos lifts his gauntlet, and suddenly, everything is engulfed in green.

"Peter? Peter look at me," May says, staring intently at her nephew. "I love you Petey, It's been the best time of my life looking after you."

Peter shakes his head, tears pooling in his eyes. "Three, two, on-"

"Stop," Peter says quietly, but we all hear him. "Just... stop."

Thanos smiles, and holds out a hand. The kid throws the stone at his feet. Picking up the stone, Thanos nods at the person holding May. They nod back, and without a moments hesitation, stabs her through the stomach.

Peter Parker:

No, no, no, no, no... I charge towards May, but something stops me. I turn around to see Thanos at full power, with all six Infinity Stones. He smiles at me, raises his hand, and snaps his fingers.

A/N: Okay, so... yeah. Was that too mean? I don't think so. It came out a lot less angsty than I originally planned for it to be, so that could be seen as a bonus I guess. This was originally going to be the set up for my current story, We Gotta Go (go read that, it's currently in progress :) shameless plug), but I eventually decided against it. If you want, just imagine that May didn't die the second time, and Gamora and Vision were still alive, and Doctor Strange go them all to Titan, away from Thanos. Yeah. That way it kinda could set up We Gotta Go.

Anyway, I hope you liked this story, but if you didn't oh well. Sorry bout that.

Bye :)
