A/N: All my drabbles are really inspired by music, so I suggest listening to "400 Lux" by Lorde while reading this. It's really good.
There was such a sense of familiarity in the air. The way all of the houses looked just about the same. The way the street lights lit up the road. The way his wrist draped over the steering wheel. All of it so familiar to Nikki, but at the same time so foreign and new. Maybe because this wasn't just an average car ride. Tonight, it was an adventure–a search for fun in different places–which meant viewing these already-known streets and buildings in a different light.
They had a lot to not do. They had time to take in the humidity of early July and admire each other's smile and do other stupid things when they got bored. The little things mattered when there was nothing big going on. By the end of the night, the tires on his car stopped kissing the tar on the highway as they made their way onto the pavement of his driveway and Jonesy and Nikki started kissing each other. The way they kissed each other and showed affection. That was familiar.
A/N: Very short musings coming from me today. I felt like getting this tiny plot bunny (or rather drabble bunny) out of my head so I can continue with some other writing of mine. Hope you enjoyed it. xoxo
