E'en though his own youth had long since gone
And the age of his twilight on him is upon
The old man'll drive out winter and restore what is gone
For the springtime of his life he longs, he longs.
Down with arrows, the killer of knees!
And arthritis and lumbago and plagues just like these
We're all children within us every day our lives
So don't hesitate living, every one of us dies.
His face was age-lined, but his eyes shone quite keen
As he fought with the snowflakes, thin hair styled with cream
Down with snowflakes, the killer of kings!
On the day of their death we will drink and we'll sing
We'll drive back eternity and restore what we own
Earn our spring through our dentures and our muscle tone.
I saw an old man by the side of the road
He wore no shirt even though it was cold
Fight his lone battle with invidious foe,
Then I tripped and I fell and took a mace to my toe.
