I opened the door with my keycard. The silence was the only thing greeting me. I stepped in and turned on the light. I tossed my bags on the bed and sighed; one rough day behind, few hundred ahead. I shot a glance around the room, couch was in a wrong place. It was positioned between two tables in front of the wall,
but I like it when it's in front of the window. I closed the door and crabbed the couch by the other end. I managed to pull it where I wanted quite nicely. If the hotel manager had something to say about it, they just could put a note that says: "Jeff Hardy moved this couch, blame him." I smirked at the thought. Next thing I just had to do, was to go through my bag and find a bottle of water. As soon as the mission was accomplished, I jumped to the couch and curled on the corner. I looked the city beneath me and sighed, sometimes life just doesn't feel that bad. You shouldn't always be thinking about "all the other options" and "what if's". Yea, what if you were here? And what if this is just a bad dream and I just can't wake up?

I hear the door open. I know it's not you, but I still say. "Put the big light down, bro." The light goes out and the door closes. "Surprise Jeff." I hear a familiar voice behind me.Yes, a total surprise. I don't turn to look at him, instead I ask. "What are you doing here Jay?" He crashes to the couch next to me and explains. "Shane wanted to catch up with Chris so he asked me to swap with him. I hope it's okay with you." I nod and take a sip from my bottle. "It's been a long time",I break the silence. "Yea, a lot of things have changed." "You got that right", I say quietly. Our "conversation" fades away and I'm thinking of you. That's not a good thing, especially if it happens after sunset. "So what's the deal with couch, water & citylights- combination?", he asks. I smile a bit and pass the bottle. "Try it yourself" He takes the bottle and looks at me, puzzled. "Go ahead, you'll see why I do it." I say and straight into his eyes. He doesn't say anything, just takes a sip and looks at the city. I poke him on the chest, "Now it's in you!" "What is?", he asks. His eyes are demanding a quick answer, but I can't resist. "Jeff- virus." He doesn't know how to react on this sudden information, so I feel that I need to explain. I pat his cheek, "Don't worry, you're not going to die or anything.." "But I'm going to become as insane as you are?" I pout, "Jay! That's not funny!" Now it's his turnto pat my cheek, "Sorry Jeff, but that's the truth. But it's okay. You see, you can be as insane and strange as you want, I'll like you anyway." I take the bootle from him and mumble, "You're evil." He smiles but doesn't say anything. "But I like you anyway", I whisper.br
We stare the city in silence, trapped in our thoughts. The citylights seem to bring life to the place and I like it. My thoughts are interrupted by Jay. "You know what you are? You are like the Northern Lights." I turn to look at him and he continues, "You seem to be like a mystery to everyone, hiding your inner self. Just like the Northern Lights, glowingto everyone up in the sky, up where nobody is able to reach them. But sometimes there's a Northern Light storm, which lights the sky for a moment." I really don't know what to say, exept, "You sound like the Bible. But that's okay, I still like you." He starts to laugh, "I take that as a compliment." I grin and finish the rest of my bottle. "You know, it's time to go to bed now," I inform him. He raises an eyebrow, "Really? Are you tired?" "No, but my bottle's empty and I've had my fun for tonight." He just smiles and nods to me. One last look to the city beneath us and he stands up.br
As I lay my head to the pillow, I hear his peaceful breathing behind my back. Northern Light, indeed.
