Okay, hello fellow Marvelites. This is a new story about the recent addition to Ultimate Universe. As of this moment of this story's been published, this takes place after Ultimate Comics Spider-man #26. Honestly, this is a lot of speculation as 1.) as of this date that this story's been published, only #23 is out and 2.) Kate Bishop has only been in 16 panels in the comic's entire run so far. So I'm literally throwing dice against the wall here.
Here is what I'm hoping to do: I'm hoping to have characters that were not introduced in the Ultimate Universe yet and introduce them through here. You'll see that I've already hinted on whom is going to show up soon. I also want to have that super teen team dynamic that I feel that the cartoon is missing (I personally loathe the cartoon). No, this does not actually follow the literal Power Pack as you may know them in 616. According to the solicitations, Bendis has dubbed this new super hero team comprised of Miles Morales, Cloak, Dagger, Lana Baumgartner a.k.a. Bombshell, and (hopefully) Katie Bishop as the Power Pack for the Ultimate Universe. I don't know why he couldn't call them the Young Avengers or something like that, but whatever.
I don't want to hear any complaints about this being Miles Morales. I don't really care. I like the kid and feel that he is more than worthy of being a replacement for Peter Parker. I have all 160 issues of Ultimate Spider-man including the Death of Spider-man and 19(I don't have the Venom War arc yet, but have read them) of the 23 that is out now with Miles Morales in it. If you haven't accepted that Peter Parker is dead after nearly two years, then you are a lost cause and probably should not even bother reading this. Superior Spider-man, however, is another story all together as what Slott did was straight sloppy and belongs in the category of shock writing in which he is trying to incur more sales in spite of the story's logic. But that is another story and another complaint for another day. Enjot...hopefully.

"No," Miles said with certainty in his voice.
"But it is easy," Ganke sifted through his papers while maintaining a calm voice in spite of the denial. "All we have to do is scout him out and—"
"And," Miles cut off his friend while looking up from his lunch. "You want me to stalk this man because of one of your wild suspicions. "
Ganke glowered at him, but kept her tone became dangerous low, "It is not a wild suspicion, Miles. Geoffrey Wilder is a mob boss."
"And what proof do you have of this, Velma Dinkley?" Miles raised his hands, almost getting out of his seat. "A few court cases that you found on the internet does not amount to much and if you haven't noticed, he walked and was declared innocent in every single one of them."
"A few!" Ganke became hysterical. "The man has a rap sheet that would make Nick Fury's eye patch pop out. He is literally the Wilson Fisk of LA and he is coming to New York to make trouble and your team has to stop him.
"First off," Miles counted with his fingers before calming down. "It isn't my team. As far as I am concerned, we are all under Spider-woman's authority as she is the reason why SHIELD doesn't ring us in. Second, as much as I appreciate the enthusiasm , we have bigger problems to deal with. If you haven't noticed, a giant purple man with a funny hat nearly tried to eat the world and super powered gangs are going crazy in this city."
Ganke calmly shrugged his shoulders, "And that is why it is an opportune time to make a takeover. Look. Wilder has the resources. He is a Kingpin and quite frankly, you should be weary of that because Peter Parker had to go through loops to take out the old Kingpin of New York."
Miles crossed his arms and pondered his friend's words. He was right in a sense. With all of the chaos, a man with Wilder's resources should be checked out. There is enough trouble with Diamondback and Serpent Gang plus it couldn't hurt to simply check him out.
"Fine," Miles finally gave in. "I will ask Jessica to check him out, but don't get any more funny ideas and think you are like the command center guy of the team."
"Hey guys," a voice called out to them. The boys turned their attention to the speaker and saw that it was Katie Bishop, Miles' girlfriend. Ganke immediately shuffled his papers in his book bag while Miles immediately stepped in the sight of Katie in order to shield Ganke. Obviously, this looked suspicious and the girl immediately cocked an eyebrow. " What is going on?"
"Nothing," they both said at the same exact time trying to sound as non-peculiar as possible while failing miserably at doing so.
"Oooookay," Katie narrowed her eyes at them for a brief moment and then turned her attention to her purse. She opened it and pulled out some tickets and held them to Miles face. "So I kind of figured that we should hang out outside of school if we get a chance. Like, I mean with everything that has been going on and stuff, we should hang out more."
Miles wanted to go, but he knew that he couldn't. With all that has happened as of late, his priorities as Spider-man were slowly taking over any time he had as a normal person. All the free time that he had as a boyfriend were ate up by his job as a superhero. How did Peter Parker manage it? There had to be times that Parker just did not don the suit and stayed home with his girlfriend. Whatever he did, Miles had to figure it out or at least try to manage it better, but until then, he couldn't do much.
"I have a thing so I can't go," Miles looked down while scratching the back of his neck. "But-"
"Sure," Katie cut him off before shoving the tickets back into her purse. "I understand that you are busy and you have been doing this 'I have a thing, but I won't tell what the thing is so I will keep leaving you in the dark just to frustrate you' act, but I don't want to intrude."
"Katie, it's not like that," the boy tried to reason with her, but it was to no avail. Katie simply sighed and held up one hand between her and Miles in an almost defeated and lackadaisical manner.
"Miles, calm down," she kept her eyes closed. "You are making a scene."
Miles and Ganke looked around the courtyard and sure enough saw all eyes were on them. Kate simply sat down as if she did not noticed the peering eyes and Miles wished that it wouldn't be so suspicious if he were to all of the sudden use his power and physically disappeared. Ganke feeling extremely uncomfortable got up and shooed himself away from the table full of awkwardness and tension. Miles did not even acknowledged his friend's departure and simply just tucked his head into his hoodie and began to passively eat his lunch. After a minute of embarrassment, the courtyard finally turned their attention away from them. Kate, noticing that the coast was clear, scooted next to her boyfriend, whispered in his ear while trying to show him a paper.
"Look, Miles. I know you a lot has been happening with you and you will tell me when you are ready to," Kate clarified while placing a hand on his shoulder. She was somewhat delighted to watch his eyes focus on hers. "Just try not to completely shut me out. Like, the world nearly came to an end the other day and we should be grateful for every second that we have together. Things changed, but I still want this to work, y' know?"
Miles sighed and began to look down, "I don't mean to be secretive and stuff, I am just starting to come down from everything."
She smirked to herself and held up her hands in a playful manner, "Well the world nearly coming to an end can be really exciting and stuff and quite the high to come down from, but don't forget that I am here, okay?"
Katie placed a hand on his cheek and gently lifted his head up so he would look her in the eyes.
"I could kiss you right now," Miles said nonchalantly.
Katie smirked and moved her hand away from his face and on the table, "I know you could, but I'm sure the end of the world did not change school rules so down, boy."
The warm moment was interrupted with the sound of a bell. The both looked down and saw that their hands were touching without any indication. They quickly scurried their hands away from each other and looked away.
"So you want to walk me to my class or..." Katie asked while blushing.
"Umm sure," Miles shoved his hands in his pockets and felt his phone. He suddenly remembered that he still had to do something. "Just give me a minute, okay? I have to make a phone call.
Katie nodded and Miles went away to a secluded area. He looked around and made sure that no one was listening in. When the coast was clear, he pulled out his a device and typed in a number. He put the device in his ear and waited for the ringing to go off.
"Hello," a voice on the other end of the line answered.
"Hey, Jess, it's Miles and-"
"Don't say my name in public, Miles and if you are going to refer to me as something, call me Arachne. I seriously need you to brush up on SHIELD protocol."
"Okay, okay," Miles placed a hand on his head feeling somewhat annoyed. "Could you look up Geoffrey Wilder for me? I hear that he is bad news and stuff."
"Why the sudden interest in a mob boss, Miles?" Jessica's tone was more pointed than it was curious.
Even though he knew Jessica Drew could not see him, Miles still felt as if she was looking down his soul, "Ganke sort of told me that he was this famous bad guy that may have a criminal empire out in Cali so he wondered if we could see what he is up to."
"Well, I have already looked into him and it is kind of weird that SHIELD has virtually nothing on the guy," Jessica stated in a matter of fact manner.
Miles cocked an eyebrow, "How is that weird?"
"Because Miles, we have the dirt on almost everybody on the entire planet. No seriously, I was curious once and found footage of Aunt May revealing herself at Com-stock when she was young(something I wish I never would have ever wanted to see). That is not even incriminating stuff, but lo and behold," Jessica continued on. "For anyone to have nothing in their SHIELD database entry is like saying that they never existed. Especially someone who was supposedly under SHIELD surveillance for nearly a decade."
"Maybe he wasn't doing anything," Miles rebutted.
"Maybe he wasn't, but that doesn't explain how he even got the money he has. We all have to file taxes some time, Miles and even that doesn't make much sense when it comes to Wilder. It is as if money just magically appears in his banking account or something."
"So what do you want to do?"
"It is funny because just before you called, I already hit up Bombshell to do a little recon on the guy after school. You can come over and you two can do some patrol work together. Cloak and Dagger are already preoccupied with the list from Roxxon so they won't be joining you. The meetup will be at a specified place and designated time. I will send you the details later."
"What will you be doing?"
"I will continue to tail Wilder. And Miles?"
"Yeah?"
"Don't keep your girlfriend waiting. It is rude."
"Wait what?" The phone clicked before Miles could respond.
I know, I know, I know. I played it safe. Review or favorite it or send me a dirty message with dirty pictures if you like.
