Hidan opened violet eyes in an vain attempt to get his bearings only to shut them again when everything began spinning. The world around him swirled and his head pounded. Bile rose to his throat, but he managed to keep it down. "What the hell happened?" Everything felt wrong. A few groans assured the Akatsuki he wasn't alone.
"I don't know. The last thing I remember was Orochimaru in our base, hm." Came a familiar voice laced with grogginess. Every small sound made Deidara feel like his head was being bombarded by a genjutsu.
It was a few moments before the worst of it began to pass then, "D-Deidara-senpai!"
The runt was the last thing the blonde wanted to deal with right now. "What is it, To-" He stopped when he turned his head to scold the nuisance. Instead there was a black kitten with a orange face. One the size as he was. Swiping playfully at a yellow rope. It didn't take Deidara long to figure the 'rope' was actually attached to himself.
"You have a tail, Dedara-senpai!" Tobi continued to toy with it as if it was nothing too strange.
"What the fuck!?" Hidan stared at his new found paws with absolute horror twisting his furry face. "Did you assholes know we're a bunch of fucking furba-!? OW!" The silver kitten nursed the spot where Kakuzu smacked him. "What the fucking hell was that for!?"
"Shut up, idiot. We can all see we're cats." The brown kitten held a paw to protect his ear from his partner's irritating yelling.
"How did this happen?" Sasori stumbled as he tried to get used to the new form. His gray eyes still had their usual bored look. Even becoming a cat wasn't enough to get a rise out of him it appeared.
"It most likely had something to do with Orochimaru." A black cat with onyx eyes answered in Itachi's voice. He seemed the least affected by this sudden change and casually examined a paw.
"Where are we?" Kisame, a light periwinkle kitten with dark stripes on his face, asked. For some odd reason he felt the need to pounce on Itachi's twitching tail.
And orange tabby walked up the walls of the box they were contained in. His rippled, gray eyes revealed him to be their leader. "Some kind of box. We need to find out what Jutsu that traitor placed on us then reverse it or wait for it to wear off." A lavender cat kept to his side and her right ear was a light shade of color.
"But where is the box? We could be moments from death and we wouldn't know." A black and white cat tried to scale the walls of the cardboard box, but slid back down. His tiny claws could only leave gouges in the wall and were unable to support his weight. "We are certain we are outside at least." Tiny lights dotted the dark blue sky.
"We're not going to die, Zetsu." Pein's tone booked no argument. Considering their situation, the others had trouble believing that. It did not escape their notice that their chakra levels were pathetically depleted and were at the mercy to whoever looked inside.
"Once we get back to the base that snake is going to get a taste of my art, hm." Deidara hissed while clutching one of his fluffy paws in a fist. Sasori rolled his eyes at the mention of what his partner called 'art.'
Hidan nodded. "For once I agree with you, blondie. That asshole will feel Pain."
"Shush, I hear someone coming." Konan interrupted. Everyone became silent all at once, even Hidan. The footsteps were definitely heading their way. The Akatsuki glanced at one another, hoping one of them had an answer for who it could be.
"Well... It's been a good run." Kisame sighed through his shark-toothed maw. No one argued, who else could it be besides the traitor or one of his allies? It was least worthy to note that they will die as cute, little kitten. Kakuzu's fur rose and his claws scratched the floor, he wasn't going to die without leaving a few scars.
Much to their surprise, it was a girl who peeked inside the box at the kittens not Orochimaru or any of their enemies. Her dirty blonde hair was tied in a ponytail and she had a lean figure. Her hazel eyes brighten at the sight of so many kittens.
"Who would leave kittens alone on the side of the road?" She asked herself, "There are so many of you, but I can't just leave you cuties here." She smiled at the confused kittens and picked up the box.
"I'm so bored, when is Bree gonna come home?" grumbled a girl with short raven hair and dark eyes laying on a sofa and glaring at the ceiling. At that moment, the sound of keys turning in the lock came from the front door. "Yay! Finally! What took you so long?" Cel hopped to her feet. As soon as Bree appeared, the girl attempted to hug her but was stopped by the cardboard box in her arms. "What's in the box?" she asked while eyeing it curiously.
Bree couldn't stop grinning like an idiot. "I took so long because I had to stop by my work to get some pet supplies."
There were the sound of scratching and clawing coming from inside the box like something was trying to keep their balance against the swaying motion of Bree's movement. Celosia gasped, "Pet supplies!? Is it puppies!?"
"Better."
She placed the box on the coffee table and opened it. Cel nearly burst into tears as she saw the many kittens staring up at her. "They are so cute!" Cel picked up the red one and paused. "Why are some of them such weird colors?"
"I'm not sure." Bree shrugged. "I just found them this way. Maybe their old owners dyed them or something." It was kinda odd for someone to dye kittens, especially such weird colors. Maybe they thought they could sell the kittens for more?
"Their old owner must be a real Narutard then," Celosia giggled. The red kitten with the bored look reminded her of Sasori. He even didn't react other than staring at her with a emotionless stare when she held him.
"A what...?" Bree shot her friend a confused glance.
Celosia sighed. Of course Bree wasn't familiar with anime. "Some of these kittens look like the cat version of the Akatsuki. I mean look at this one!" She held up a brown kitten with thin, black stripes crisscrossing his fur. "Please tell me this one doesn't look like Kakuzu from Naruto. He even has the eyes!" She pointed to his red and green eyes.
"Oh jeez, he might need to see a vet." Bree took the kitten and forced his eyes open so she could get a better look. He didn't seem to agree with the handling, hissing and clawing at her grip. "Is Naruto that cartoon you watch?"
Celosia stuck out her tongue. "It's an anime, not a cartoon. Though even I wouldn't dye animals like anime characters, I hope none of them are sick." The emotionless kitten was placed gently back with the others where the yellow one seemed to snicker at the red kitten who finally managed a glare. The look went unnoticed by Cel, instead she picked up the biggest kitten.
"This one looks kinda like Kisame. He even has the little gill marks." She cuddled the annoyed kitten.
Hidan didn't make any attempt to stifle his laughter, nearly choking on it in fact. "This is fucking hilarious. I would sacrifice a hundred fucking lives just to see Kakuzu getting manhandled by a kid anything else from here on out is just icing on the cake."
"Any thoughts, Leader?" Sasori ignored Deidara's snickering and looked to Pain along with a few of the more serious Akastuki members. The orange feline didn't respond right away only watching the girls with his rare eyes.
"At least you finally found a girl who loves you, Kisame." Hidan continued in his mocking. Kisame only reacted with a scowl that promised retribution for this humiliation.
"I want a hug too!" Tobi mewed. He pawed and meowed to get the girls' attention. Fortunately for Kakuzu, and the other members who quickly grew tired of Tobi's incessant noise, Bree traded him for the hyper kitten.
Bree picked up the black, orange faced kitten. "Aww, this one is so cute!"
"That one looks like Tobi." Cel patted the little cat's head. Bree rolled her eyes at the comment.
"Tobi isn't even an official member, yet they know him," Zetsu pointed out.
Kakuzu barely paid the black and white cat any mind before pouncing on Hidan. "What the fuck, you old asshole!?" Having been taken by surprise, Hidan had little chance to defend himself.
"No fighting!" Bree pulled the brown kitten away then held up the silver kitten by the nape like a mother cat would. "Purple eyes? Silver fur? This one kinda looks like he'll be a Targaryen." She looked between the kitten's legs despite of his struggling. "He's a guy, so his name will be Viserion."
The raven-haired girl scoffed. "And you call me weird. I'll name this little guy Kisame then." Kisame found himself at least able to take solace in that he got to keep his own name.
"Fine, but lets not name the rest after fictional characters, yes?" Cel agreed only because she wouldn't be able to stand five kittens named after Game of Thrones characters.
"This bitch is going to pay!" Hidan yowled once he was placed back with the others. "And what the fuck is a Targaryen!?" He didn't sacrifice to Lord Jashin to be molested by a girl as a cat. Kakuzu took some pleasure, "You deserved it."
"Okay, we should let these guys get comfortable in their new home." Bree let the kittens free from the box to wander at their pleasure. "You set the litter box and I'll feed them. They must be hungry." Tobi managed to crawl up onto her shoulder while she fetched the cat food and bowls.
"Of course I get the litter box job." Cel complied with only mild complaining.
The kittens perked up at the mention of food, well except for a select few. Kisame, Zetsu, Deidara and Hidan eagerly stayed close to Bree as she filled ten coloful bowls followed by a reluctant, but curious Kakuzu. Itachi, Pain, Konan and Sasori silently scouted their new surroundings.
"Finally, something to eat, hm."
"I hope it's meat!" Zetsu eagerly stuck close to Bree's feet, meowing. "Food should be the last thing on our minds." The white side of his face pouted while the black part showed no emotion. Hidan grumbled something akin to 'this bitch is lucky I don't have my scythe' under his breath. Kisame sat, scowling at the fact one of the great swordsman of the mist was as helpless as an actual kitten.
"Here you go, kitties!" Bree placed down ten bowls of kitten food and put the orange-faced kitty near his. The six kittens present made no move to eat. They only stared at the food in what looked to be in disgust. The silver kitten dubbed as Viserion began hissing uncontrollably. "Come on guys eat!" She kneeled down, making sure to keep her distance from Viserion who was being held back by the brown kitten, and pushed a bowl closer to the blue one.
He cringed away from it and glared at her like it was some kind of insult. Tobi sniffed his food then began crunching the little bites between his teeth. Zetsu, after seeing Tobi eat, took a few pieces into his mouth. "Come on." She picked up a few pieces from the yellow kitten's bowl and offered to him. He seemed as interested as the periwinkle kitten. She sighed, they were definitely different from most kittens.
"What the fuck is this shit!?" Hidan stomped a tiny paw. This insult to one of Lord Jashin's loyal servants will not go unpunished. First, this child then the traitor that cause all of this. "This bullshit is such... bullshit!"
"Hidan!" Kakuzu was the only reason 'Viserion' hadn't clawed out this girl's face. "Show at least a little restraint."
Kisame was more than a little disappoint at their food. With a huff, the former mist-nin went to find Itachi. Deidara didn't say anything. The terrorist only looked at what the girl called 'food' and spat. "It is not that bad, Deidara-senpai," Tobi grimaced as he chewed. Zetsu was the only one to actually seem to like what was in the metallic tin bowl.
Cel returned from setting up the litter boxes in the bathroom. "Kitty restrooms are all set!"
Deciding the kittens will eat if they're hungry enough, Bree spoke loud enough to get all the kittens' attention, "Okay kitties, don't poop or piss anywhere but in the litter box, otherwise you will get in trouble, got that?" Some acknowledged her with bored stares, but most wandered around the living room. Now that food, water and litter was set, Cel got excited for the best part of having kittens.
She found one of the toys Bree bought for the kittens, a feathered teaser. "Here, kitties!" Bree had little hopes for the cats to make an attempt to chase it. The kitten with the orange face was the only one who chased it. He seemed to be the most normal kitten.
Pain noticed this as well. "We shouldn't act so suspicious. We will act like normal kittens... for now." The Akatsuki nodded with more than a little hesitation. Kisame made a pitiful attempt at a swipe at the feathered cat toy then immediately got tackled by Tobi.
"This doesn't look anything like our world," Itachi noted while absently toying with a ball with a bell inside.
"We need to get back to our original forms soon," Pain glared at his reflection on the television. "For now, we are useless."
"They're probably just tired. It's getting late, I'm going to bed," Bree grabbed Tobi, Pein, Konan, Hidan, and Deidara. "I call these kitties."
"Fine, as long as I got my Kisa-kitty, I'm good," Celosia got the rest and headed upstairs to her room. Once she got to her room she placed the kittens on the bed. The Akatsuki cats looked around, the room had a queen sized bed, dresser with stuffed animals, a night stand, and a television. Celosia crawled under the covers, "I'ma name you guys tomorrow, goodnight."
Once he was sure that the girl, Bree, was asleep, Pain gathered the Akatsuki members that were in the room. "This is a problem. We can't stay here or like this." It was obvious to all the Akatsuki, but there were no answers. "We will have to deal with while searching for any way to turn back to normal." Even as a cat Pain didn't lose his serious aura.
"We could play nicey with these girls until we find a way to turn back," Tobi suggested while swiping a Deidara's tail.
Sasori found a soft spot on the bed to curl up. "You are enjoying this a little too much, but we have little choice anyways." No one argued.
"Tobi, get away from me, hm!" Deidara hissed and darted to where his partner lay, "Once we get back to our normal forms, I will turn you into art!" Tobi, like usual, wasn't affected by the threat. The stupid cat just tilted his head like he was wondering what he did wrong.
Sasori smacked the side of Deidara's head. "What the hell was that for, Sasori no danna!"
"Calm down, brat," The red kitten said in a monotonous voice, "The last thing we need is you exploding everything." The terrorist knew he was right, but still grumbled under his breath.
"Fuck this. Kakuzu is lucky he doesn't have to deal with this shit." Hidan hopped from the bed and went under the bed. The masochist felt like he hadn't slept in weeks. Here away from the others, he found some peace.
"We should get some rest, there is no point in fighting." Konan said wearily, curling up at the foot of the bed.
"Agreed," Pain said curling up next to her. Deidara, after grumbling a few choice words, found a spot away from everyone to sleep while Tobi cuddled next their captor.
"Wow, I never seen anything like this," Zetsu said looking out the window, the girl had fallen asleep and now the Akatsuki there were trying to figure a way out of this situation. "This place has technology we have never seen in our world."
"The people here aren't powerful in terms of chakra," Itachi commented, sharingan eyes gazing out the window next to Zetsu. His eyes switched back to onyx and Zetsu didn't fail to take note of the quickened pace at which his tiny chest rose and fell.
"This is a mess." Kisame yawned. His claws kneaded the soft blanket. "Do you think we will find a way back, Itachi?" The black kitten didn't answer. Itachi wasn't quite sure of this situation, if they couldn't find a way back...
The silence went on for a few moments before Zetsu piped up, "You should get some sleep, we're look around.
"Wake us up when you find anything interesting."
"Don't disturb me or I'll sacrifice you to Lord Jashin," Hidan threaten before curling up into a ball.
Kakuzu shook his head at his partner, "I might as well as go to bed too, there's little point in staying up now."
"Zetsu, can you still use your mayfly technique, since it doesn't require hand signs?" Itachi asked when the other members fell asleep.
"No, this form weakens me too much," Zetsu eyed him, "how can you still use your sharingan?"
"I can't get to mangekyou sharingan and using this stage tires me out like I have been using the mangekyou." Itachi eyes switched back to their original onyx color, "we should rest, we will discuss this more with leader and the rest tomorrow." Zetsu nodded.
This is my first fanfic on here, yay! I hope you like. I know Akatsuki getting turned into kittens and being sent to our world is kind of cliche, but whatever. Please leave reviews and if you have any suggestions I'll be more than happen to hear it ^-^. The Akatsuki is gonna go back to normal in the next chapter and I'll try to update soon! and next chapter will be longer!
