I was thinking about this story for a while. Eric's cousin from New York moves to Dillon and takes the head coaching job to coach the Panthers. It's been five years since Eric left Texas and the Panthers aren't what they once were. He talks his cousin Don Taylor to accept the job as the Panthers new head coach. At first Don doesn't want the job and then he meets Buddy Garrity and definitely doesn't want the job. Can, Don make the Panthers winners again or will the Panthers spiral even further down the football food chain in Texas.

I don't own any characters from FNL or any other TV show or movie. Please read and review.

Chapter 1: Forced Family Fun

Don and his wife Samantha are in their kitchen.

"He wants something." Don said.

"We don't know that." Samantha told him.

"Eric, never stops by." Don sighed.

"Maybe, he wants to see how things are?" Samantha questioned.

"Sam, he lived in Pennsylvania for five years and has never come to see us." Don answered.

"Well, Tami, Eric and Gracie are coming tonight to see us." Samantha then replied.

Don sighs and sits at the kitchen table.

Eric, Tami and Gracie are in their SUV on the way to Don's house.

"Isn't this exciting?" Tami asked Eric.

"Loads of fun, Babe." Eric replied sarcastically.

"It doesn't sound like you're having fun Dad." Gracie said to him.

"It may not sound like it but, I am having fun Sweetie." Eric told Gracie.

"We haven't seen Don or Samantha since Julie and Matt's wedding." Tami told him.

"We talk to them once a month." Eric said.

"No, Samantha and I talk once a month." Tami corrected him.

"I talk to Don." Eric then said.

"Please, Don and you talk to each other for three minutes." Tami smirked.

"We still talk to each other." Eric smiled back.

"The whole conversation between you two is 'How's the family? Good and yours. That's great.' and then you hand the phone to me." Tami said replaying Don and Eric's conversations.

"That's not our whole conversation. I tell him what Gracie and Julie are doing." Eric told her.

"Dad, you and Don should have a lot to talk about. I mean, you're both football coaches." Gracie said.

"That's the only thing we have in common." Eric replied.

"You're also his cousin." Tami chimed in.

"Mom's right. That's two things you and Don have in common." Gracie then smiled.

Eric smiles and continues to drive.
