Gokudera wanted to weep. He had put forth so much time and effort into planning for this day and it was completely ruined. The Tenth now probably didn't want anything to do with him let alone want to go on another date. Not that the half-Japanese, half-Italian youth could blame him. Who would want to spend time with someone who could not stop Lambo and I-Pin from showing up at the movies where they were, which was completely ruined by Lambo's loud obnoxious commentary throughout it and then the brat managed to spill his soda on I-Pin that caused her to blow up in embarrassment.
After getting out of the movie theatre just in time, Gokudera tried to salvage things by taking Tsuna to a nice restaurant. The normalcy lasted for less time than in the movies as one of the first sights they saw entering was Dr. Shamal flirting shamelessly with the pretty head waitress. Since he was quickly booted out they tried to ignore it and hoped he would be the last familiar face they saw for the rest of the meal.
In retrospect Gokudera should have realized that fate was not going to be that kind to him. A realization that came too late when his older sister, Bianchi, showed up as their chef. He did not get long to think about his new insight about his relationship with fate as the phantom pain he always got from seeing her face hit him full on and caused him to promptly pass out.
When he awoke the light haired teen found himself looking at the familiar ceiling of Tsuna's bedroom. He groaned inwardly in guilt as it meant that the Tenth had been stuck with dragging him here. It should have been Gokudera helping the smaller teen out, not the other way around. Especially if Gokudera was to prove he would be the best choice to be the Tenth's right hand man.
"Are you feeling better, Gokudera?" Tsuna's voice broke the other youth's bout of self-pity.
"T-tenth?" Gokudera answered taken aback. How he failed to notice that Tsuna had been sitting by his side baffled him, as well as made him feel more like a complete loser. Sheepishly he apologized, "Guess I just managed to ruin the date. I wouldn't blame you if you wanted nothing to do with me anymore. Especially after having to lug me back here by yourself and everything."
"No, it's ok," Tsuna told him as the smaller teen places a hand over one of Gokudera's. "After you passed out I found Yamamoto nearby so he was the one who carried you here. And it wasn't your fault for anything that went wrong. Compared to other times I've gone out to enjoy a day it really wasn't that bad. And for the times that were free of everyone else, it was, well kinda nice."
Hearing that it was his rival, Yamamoto, that was the one who brought him to Tsuna's place made Gokudera want to blow himself up in shame. But Tsuna's last words completely eclipsed that feeling as his heart threatened to burst from joy. The Tenth liked being with him. Despite the complete train wreck, the Tenth said he liked being with him. Not anybody else, and definitely not Yamamoto, else.
Gokudera sat up and flung his arms around the small spiky haired boy as he cired out, "Tenth! I'm so happy. I love you too!"
Tsuna's face turned red at the light haired boy's declaration of love. He started to try to correct him since like was not the same as love, but ended up holding back. Gokudera was rarely this happy and Tsuna figured he could use a break every once in a while.
