September 1918
The Love shined in her eyes as she stared at her beloved. "I love you" she said. This time however love was not enough.
The time had come and the train's whistle could be heard all across the town. He stared down at the woman he loved but was about to leave and said "You have my heart, take care of it for me".
This was his way of saying that he would return without the heart wrenching goodbye. If only the path to true love was as clean cut as it always sounded .They embraced once more, as he stepped onto the platform and handed over his ticket.
She cried for it may be the last she would ever see of him .He smiled sadly because he knew that great trouble was to come even though they had been through so much already. They were both young and considered foolish because he was 17 as was she, but they wanted to be together by law before he had to leave and this was a goodbye too soon.
Epilogue-60yrs
"Dearly beloved we have gathered here today to celebrate the lives of Isabella and Edward Masen .These two were together for 60 long years and were influential to many other lives .Everyone was enraptured by Isabella's kind hearted spirit and charmed by Edward's gentlemanly ways. I have had the pleasure of knowing both of them my whole life and would know that they would want nothing more than for you to rejoice for their passing and keep them in your hearts" Alice completed the benediction with a tear in her eye but a smile on her face, because with her whole heart she knew it was true.
