"Stop staring at his"

Tom came up behind B'Elanna startling her.

"I'm not…yours is the only one I stare at these days anyway," she wrapped her arms around his waist before one of her hands moved downwards to pinch his ass.

"Don't tempt me," Tom warned, turning B'Elanna around so he could wrap his arms around her from behind, while both staring at the picturesque view of the ocean as they stood high above on the tallest sand dune.

It had been a rough two weeks being engaged in battles from a hostile species. Every crew member was put to the test during combat and the grueling hours spent on repair. It wasn't until a week later that Captain Janeway ordered a ship wide day of rest where a tropical beach holoprogram was to be open to all.

"So," Tom prodded, "what are you really doing spying on Chakotay?"

"Well, actually I was waiting for-" she put a hand above her eyes blocking the glare of the sun, "that" she smiled happily to herself as the Captain came into view sauntering over to where Chakotay stood along the sandy beach, staring out into the ocean.

"Poor guy," Tom sighed. Seeing the light shine from his face at the very sight of her.

"I know," she shrugged. "I can't help but feel guilty."

"About what?" Tom questioned.

"Being happy," she sighed, leaning into him further. "Do you think she even knows?"

Tom held her close to him as he kissed the top of her head.

"I hope so."

Chakotay stood along on the sand, watching the waves crash and the warm water wash over his feet.

"There you are," Kathryn sighed in relief, walking along the waterline until they met. "Am I disturbing you?" she asked.

"No," Chakotay was quick to answer, "You could never disturb me," he gazed at her lovingly.

"I looked for you earlier, where have you been?"

Kathryn bit her lip, looking at him with guilt written over her face. "Would you be mad if I said I was working on reports?"

"That's odd," Chakotay, mused, "because I seem to remember a certain Captain ordering everyone to the holodeck tonight. You haven't seen her around here have you? Captain Janeway? She was quite adamant that no work was to be done tonight."

"Fine," she threw her hands in the air. "I admit it," she sighed. "My name is Captain Kathryn Janeway and I'm addicted to my work."

Chakotay laughed heartily. "I've missed this downtime," he looked at her as they began walking across the sand.

"Me too. It's been a busy time; one that I'm glad is over for the meantime."

They sat down together on a sand dune watching the ocean before them.

"I've missed you most of all," Chakotay said simply, placing his hand atop of hers.

Kathryn pulled her hand away quickly. "Sorry," she apologized, "I have a feeling we're being watched," she motioned with a subtle tilt of her head to her right.

Chakotay turned his head just in time to find two very, red faced and guilty looking lieutenants, duck quickly behind a sand dune.

"You haven't said anything to B'Elanna have you?" Kathryn questioned.

"No, nothing…"

After a minute of silence, Chakotay looked at Kathryn, "Do you think they know?"

Kathryn shook her head bringing her hand up to cup his cheek.

"I wouldn't count on it."
