Uthannes, Flamebane

Lord Alrenaar was a paladin of the light, one of the first members of the Order of the Silver Hand. He fought alongside Lord Uther the Lightbringer himself in many battles. When the Order was disbanded, and Uther killed, Alrenaar returned to Stormwind to live with his wife and only child.

Shortly after, however, he was called to service once more as a paladin of the Alliance. He was sent to Blackrock to help fight the dark iron dwarves residing there. At the time, that region was part of the Redridge mountain expanse, dividing northern and southern Azeroth. He served as both a priest, healing the wounded, and a warrior, fighting battles. He became legend.

He would smite many foes before his mighty hammer, and heal the gravest of wounds amongst his allies. That was when it happened. Blackrock Mountain rose beneath the feet of a forward outpost, and soon the whole region north and south of it was black and covered in soot. The area north of the newly risen mountain was named Searing Gorge, and the area south of it, the Burning Steppes.

It was a miracle that Alrenaar and his troop were able to survive the constant eruptions, shaping the land in a new image. Some say Alrenaars holy radiance shielded them from the lava and smoke. According to their official report, however, they hid in a cave and waited out the worst of it.

Alrenaar and his men journeyed into the mountain, crossing narrow ledges and pools of lava. In the very heart of the mountain, they found a monstrosity. A giant made of molten rock. When it was slain, they looked past it to see the hallowed core of the mountain. Filled with monsters and elementals, it was a nightmare. They fought their way past the monsters and elementals, fighting lava giants and core hounds, monstrous giant two-headed dogs oozing lava and fire.

Finally they made their "leader" submit. He led them to the heart of the core, a place of twisted rock and lava. There, Executus rose an absolute horror. Before their very eyes rose a servant of the old gods themselves. Ragnaros, the Firelord. The men stood no chance. They were consumed by the fire in no time flat; Ragnaros' mighty hammer, Sulfuras, knocking them off their feet and crushing their bodies.
