"Oh, well then do come in dear. I'm sure they'll be home soon. They're out on a case at the moment. Would you like some tea?" Mrs. Hudson babbled as she ushered Violet up the stairs and into the kitchen.

"No thank you. May I please wait in the lounge?" Violet asked, fiddling with her thumbs.

"Of course dear, go ahead." Mrs. Hudson smiled warmly at the girl, before returning to making tea. She knew that Sherlock and John would be home soon and that they would most likely be asking for some tea.

Violet awkwardly sat down in an armchair, her eyes scanning the room. The wallpaper was dark and kind of Victorian, with a bright yellow smiley face painted on it. That wasn't the most interesting part though. The bullet holes surrounding it were.

"Mrs. Hudson, do you know when they'll be home?" She called into the other room where the landlady, not housekeeper, was filling three cups with boiling hot water.

"They should be home any minute now." Came the reply, just as the front door downstairs slammed shut.

"Mrs. Hudson, we're back!" Shouted the familiar voice of her brother. Violet jumped to her feet, waiting for John to walk through the door.

It opened and a tall and skinny man with black curly hair walked into the room, his eyes immediately landing on her.

"Who are you?" He asked rudely, glaring at her.

"Sherlock, who are you talking too?" John asked, coming up behind him. He caught sight of his baby sister and froze in shock.

Violet grinned, seeing John and momentarily forgetting the ice-cold glare of Sherlock's ice blue eyes.

"Violet!" John exclaimed, running to his sister and throwing his arms around her.

"Oh, it's another one of John's dates. Well, goodbye." John threw a glare in his direction, not appreciating the way he was talking to his little V.

"No, it's not one of my dates Sherlock. Meet Violet Watson, my sister." Sherlock's jaw fell open as his eyes flickered between John and his 'sibling'.

"You look nothing alike." He pointed out, seeing that Violet had bright green eyes, whereas John's were brown. Violets hair was purple, obviously dyed and her skin was pale.

"Well, you and Mycroft aren't exactly spitting images of each other." John bit back.

"Anyway, her being your sister doesn't explain why she's here."

"Does it matter?"

"Yes it does Jo-"

"It's fine, I'll just go." Violet spoke, cutting Sherlock off. She was used to being unwanted, it wasn't exactly a new feeling to her. "I'm sure I can find somewhere to stay. I just wanted to see John." She had wanted to say goodbye to John really, in case something happened to her. She wouldn't be able to handle it if she didn't say goodbye before she died.

"Goodbye John, Mr. Holmes, Mrs. Hudson. I love you John." She said goodbye to all of them, raising her voice slightly on Mrs. Hudson's name. She grabbed the handle of her suitcase and walked out of the door, leaving her brother behind her annoyed.

"Violet, what do you mean by goodbye?! Where are you going?!" John yelled after her. She ignored him and ran down the stairs, dragging her case with her. She slammed the front door behind her as she walked out of it, and hailed a cab.

She clambered inside after putting her suitcase in the trunk, just in time as her brother came running out of the house.

"Where to miss?"

"To a hotel nearby please."
