Maka Chop

The clock ticked away, slow and depressing to the students. They were waiting for the bell to ring. Because one the bell rang, they would be free for a whole hour. A whole hour in which they could explore the school, sit out on the roof, look at any requests, or do what normal people did. They could eat lunch.

But the students at the Death Weapon Meister Academy weren't normal. They were either a Weapon or a Meister. And these two form together to create a partnership that is absolute.

So, yeah, quite far from standard.

Two of these unnormal students sat beside each other. One, a tall boy. The Weapon, with spiky, snow-white hair, red eyes, and teeth like a shark's had his head lying on his desk. The other, a small, delicate girl. The Meister, with shoulder-length ash-blonde hair, tied in pigtails. Her emerald eyes sparkled with knowledge and curiosity, and her smile was warm and inviting.

Usually.

Right now, she was visibly shaking, a heavy book open in one hand. 'Soul, get up. We're still in lessons.'

Shark Boy turned his head, but kept his eyes shut. 'Maka. It's, like, two minutes until lunch. Loosen up a little.'

Before she could rely, the bell rang. Maka looked at the teacher, who strolled out the door with a loud 'Class dismissed!' before he shut it behind him. Within seconds, the rest of the kids were gone; leaving only Maka, Soul and their group of friends.

'Soul?' Tsubaki chirped. 'Why do you annoy Maka so if you're in love with her?'

'WHAT?!' Maka snapped.

Soul shrugged. 'That's easy. Because she's adorable when she's mad.'

'Do you want to be hurt?'

'See?'

Tsubaki nodded wisely. 'I really do.'

'Where did that question come from, anyway?' Maka asked. 'It's unusual for you to spit out random words, Tsubaki. Usually you're so collected. You think before you speak, unlike Soul.'

'Aww, Maka,' Soul grinned, resting his chin on her shoulder. 'You say such harsh things. It's not cool. But you love me anyway. Don't you?' He started to tickle her. 'Don't you? Hmm? Admit it!'

'I'm not saying anything!' Maka gasped, holding her sides. But the smile on her face was enough.

'Ahh, you're grinning! I win! See, guys, she loves me.'

'Don't get full of yourself.'

But Soul ignored his girlfriend's obvious warning. 'And she's such a good wife. Brilliant cooking and cleaning skills!'

Everybody became very still. Maka broke the tense silence.

'Did you just call me... a wife?'

'Yep! A brilliant wife! Who keeps her house tidy and her cooking excellent!'

Tsubaki squeaked and frantically shook her head.

'What?' Soul asked, confused.

Dark vibrations rolled off of Maka, and she snapped her book shut with a SNAP. A smirk toyed across her features, and she raised her book above her head.

Too late, Soul realized whag Tsubaki was trying to say. 'Whoa, Maka, wait. Come on, please?'

But nothing could save him now.

'MAKA CHOP.'
