She was… he couldn't really put the right word for it. Jayne was always angry, aggressive, cold, but never a softy. He never was warm, touching, and didn't even smile like a gorram fool for no entire reason. Now she had got him doing the things that he never did.
Just ruttin' shiny…
She tended to correct him whenever he was wrong at something, gritting his teeth and calming his inner screaming that he knew that she could hear and just went with whatever she said, even if it was something as gorram ridiculous as going planet side for a night out of wine and dine.
Other times, they just argued in the mess until one just gave up and agreed to the other, and she won ninety-five percent of the time. The other five gave him the opportunity to trick her into make-up sex for letting him win, which he knew that she clearly enjoyed.
Only one look at her and he's on the edge of the 'verse. Mal would make fun of him whenever she called out to him, and would tell him that the little albatross had turned into a bad influence for him. Of course, Jayne returns the kind words in regards to beautiful Inara, and the captain huffs, leaving Jayne behind with a triumphant smile.
But the captain was right… she had turned into a bad influence for the better good of him… if that even made sense to him. She brought out the good in him, the little things that a mercenary couldn't show in the line of duty. The little vixen had rewired his mind. She was…
"Jayne," her voice echoed in the bunk, pushing him out of his train of thoughts and sending a spasm of chills down his spine. He felt her presence as the bed shifted slightly with her small weight, and suddenly her tiny body crawled over his, petite hands exploring hungrily as she slid up to meet eye to eye.
It was hard to even have a coherent thought as River smiled down at him with wide chocolate eyes. He smiled back, wrapping his arms around her small torso, and lost all thought completely as she dug her fingers in his hair and devoured his lips with her rosy ones.
She was a bad influence, but maybe her bad influence wasn't so bad after all.
