100 Prompts: Obsession
[ZeLink] Can be any world. Probably Hyrule Warriors or TP, but it's up to you.
Impa looked around the castle's main entrance hall and sighed. There was green everywhere. The curtains, the new rug, the wallpaper. Different shades of green decorated most of the castle. It's not like Impa hated the color green. There was just so much of it, and she knew who was behind it.
She found the princess in one of the dining rooms, standing on top of a chair as she adjusted the curtains…which were also green.
"Your Highness," she called out, grabbing her attention.
Zelda turned around. She was smiling. She seemed to be in a very good mood. "Good morning, Impa."
For a second, Impa wondered how she should approach this issue. If she were to beat around the bush, Zelda would probably dismiss it. If she was too straightforward, the princess would just deny the accusations.
"You've been redecorating," she awkwardly stated, deciding on going for the option in between.
"Yes, isn't it wonderful?" Zelda stepped down from the chair and put it back in its place. "What do you think?"
"Well…" the Sheikah started. "I actually meant to talk to you about it."
"Why?"
"It's uh," she started. Zelda's expression began to falter, and she was suddenly afraid of spoiling the princess's good mood. "It's very…green."
"Right, green." The princess smiled again, her chin held high. She seemed very proud of it. "It's the color of the grass. Alive and fresh, like the new kingdom!" She smiled briefly before turning around to leave quickly.
Sure enough, since Hyrule won the war against the evil forces of Ganondorf, everyone, including the princess, had been in much higher spirits. Though the castle did need to be repaired and renovated after all the damage, according to Zelda, green should have been the new color. Prior to this redecorating, the castle held an elegant, royal atmosphere with plenty of purple and some red. And now all of a sudden, everything is green.
"The table in the third dining room is made of oak. It doesn't really go well with green." Impa tried. After all, Zelda did ask for her opinion. If she couldn't be straightforward, she might be able to steer her in a different direction instead.
"I thought it would complement the tapestry."
"…There isn't even any green on it."
"Well, it really brings out the walls."
Impa sighed. She knew what this was about. The stubborn princess just wouldn't admit it.
