Broken
Jackie went into Jasmine's room to grab some laundry.
"What in the world?" She said out loud to herself.
She had just happened to glance in Jasmine's garbage and notice a dollar bill. She grabbed it, or half of it at least. She then fished for the other half and found it.
"Jazz, come here kiddo." She called down the stairs.
Jasmine came up the stairs.
"Jasmine, why is there a dollar bill in your garbage can?" Jackie asked.
"It broken mommy." She replied.
"It's broken?" Jackie asked.
"Yeah, see? Broken." Jasmine said as she took the two separate halves from Jackie's hands.
"Me get it out of my pocket and me broke it, it was accident." She told her mother as if she expected to get into big trouble.
"Oh it's not broken, mommy can fix it." Jackie assured her.
"Fix it?" Jasmine asked excitedly.
"Yeah, come here, I'll show you." Jackie said as she left the child's room and went down the stairs with Jasmine following right behind her.
Jackie went to the cupboard and got out the tape. She tore a piece off.
"Alright, you hold it still right here." Jackie told her as she pointed to where she wanted Jasmine to touch it.
Jasmine stuck her little finger on the spot and Jackie taped the two halves back together.
"Alright, now we turn it over and tape the other side too, so hold it right there." Jackie told her as she again pointed to where she wanted Jasmine to hold it.
"See good as new." Jackie told her once she had taped it back together.
Jasmine beamed happily.
"Where did you get that dollar anyways?" Jackie asked her.
"Daddy, for my piggy. Can me go put it in my piggy now?" She asked excitedly.
"Yep you sure can, but sweetheart next time you tear your money can you please tell mommy or daddy so we can fix it instead of throwing it away?"
"Ok mommy." Jasmine responded before dashing up the stairs so she could put the dollar in her piggy bank.
Jasmine came back down the stairs a few moments later.
"Mommy, it no fit in my piggy." She complained as she handed the dollar back to Jackie.
"It won't? Let's go see if we can fit it in there." Jackie told her.
The pair headed up to Jasmine's room.
"You have to fold it in order for it to fit." Jackie told her as she showed her how to fold the dollar.
"Now see if it will fit." Jackie told her.
Jasmine shoved the dollar in her piggy bank.
"It fit." She said happily.
"Good!" Jackie responded.
"Bye mommy, me go play downstairs now." The child said as she left the room.
Jackie chuckled, with six kids there really was never a dull moment!
The End!
