"Sammy," Oliver took a seat while patting his friend on the back.

Sam held up his drink signaling a hello to Oliver.

Oliver looked over to Sam, "Long day?"

Sam might have been one to keep his emotions in check, but Oliver knew Sam had had a bad (more like unusual) day.

Sam just grunted, while motioning to the bartender for another.

Oliver widened his eyes. "How many is that buddy?"

Sam turned to narrow his eyes. "Four and going strong."

Oliver's mouth rounded into an 'o' shape before continuing, "Want to talk about it?"

Sam shook his head. "Nope."

Andy McNally was engaged to Luke Callaghan. In Sam's mind there was nothing to discuss. All he wanted to do was get very drunk tonight.

"It won't last." Oliver shrugged his shoulders.

Sam turned to the man sitting next to him; very surprised that Oliver was trying to initiate this conversation. "What?" He was going to play dumb.

Oliver took a sip of his beer, "This whole Callaghan thing."

Sam looked across the bar to see the two lovebirds in action. She was showing off her ring. He saw all the rookies around them. He took in a sharp breath. Maybe getting drunk at home was a better idea.

"Look pretty happy," Sam motioned to Luke and Andy.

Oliver waved the comment down, "She's too young."

It might have been the scotch running through him, but Sam flicked his arm up, "that's what I told her."

Oliver grinned, "You're going to be fine Sammy."

Sam gave him an odd look, "Huh?"

Oliver knew it was time for one of his speeches. Luckily, he prided himself on his speeches. "Look, you're not her training officer anymore. There is time for you to switch this."

Sam finished his fourth drink, "I think she's already made the choice."

If Oliver knew Sam, whom he was pretty sure he did, he knew that he wasn't going to give up a fight.

"Look, I have McNally the rest of the week." Oliver stated blankly.

Sam looked over at him, "So?"

Oliver smirked, "How about you take her off my hands. She's bad luck anyways."

Sam nodded. "I appreciate that."

"Yea, well don't get used to it. One time deal."

Sam laughed, "I think I'm going to head out of here."

Sam stood up, placing his coat on. He took out some bills from his wallet before Oliver stopped him, "It's okay buddy. I got it tonight."

Sam was shocked. "Shaw paying?"

Oliver waved his hand, "Like I said, don't get used to it."

Sam nodded, while giving Oliver an appreciative smile.

Now that Sam had exited, Oliver was going to get down to business. It wasn't that he didn't like Callaghan, hell he didn't even really know the guy, but he did care about Sammy. And though he wouldn't admit it, he did care a lot about McNally. Putting them in the same sentence only made him care more.

He saw her out of the corner of his eye and instantly he knew she was coming his way.

Andy came up next to him, "Officer Shaw."

Oliver smirked, "McNally. Just the person I wanted to see."

Andy gave him a questioning look, "Really?"

Oliver nodded. "Let me buy you a drink. We need to talk."

AN: Well...our poor Sandy! Next episode looks brutal, but we must keep the McSwarek faith! All I am going to say is my mom watched for the first time last week and all she said is, "why isn't the girl who got shot with the guy who held her face? And who is the guy she's with? Him and the blonde detective need to be together." Even my mom knows. One time viewer. Anyways...TEAM SWAREK! Let's go! More fics to come!
