"Heya. Whatcha doin' out here, Ce?"
The bluette Prince of Baron turned from watching the town below to see the blonde Princess of Fabul nearing him. He greeted her with a smile and a wave.
"Oh, hi Ursula. When did you guys get in?"
"Just a little bit ago. I couldn't help but notice you up 'ere all by your sulky self!" The second sentence was accompanied by a mischievous grin.
His tone was jokingly indignant when he outburst, "I am not sulking! I'm thinking!" She just stuck her tongue out at him.
"Thinking, sulking, it's all the same! They're both boring." She gave an exaggerated yawn to stress her point. Her face scrunched up in annoyance after a moment though, "Ya never answered my question!"
"Did too! I'm thinking!"
"Mmm hmm. Sure ya were," she looks down where his gaze seemed to be directed towards before, then the grin returns in full force and she says teasingly, "Lookin' at all the pretty girls?"
"What?!" The accused's face had flushed quickly as he yelled in shock, "Of course not! You know better than that Ursula!" He just got a giggle from the prankster.
"Sure I do! I just like seein' ya flustered, is all!" He glared at her and went back to looking outwards. She just smiled and leaned against the castle wall, observing the teenage boy. After a few minutes of this, she broke the silence. "Where'd ya get your hair from?"
"Huh?" the prince looked over at her in confusion.
"The colorin'. With a white haired dad 'n a golden haired mom, how'd you end up blue?"
"...That's a pretty valid point, actually," he looks up momentarily, "I don't know. Maybe one of dad's ancestors had blue hair. Can't exactly trace his genealogy like you can with my mom's." They both ponder this for a bit.
"Does Lunarian DNA even work like ours does?"
"No clue. That's the best explanation I can come up with though."
They sit there in silence wondering about this until the dinner bell is rung. At that, they look at each other and the not-so-proper Princess exclaims, "Race ya there!" and they're off like rockets.
Author's Note:
Hi, JDR here with her first published story! Ever! Woo! This makes me so happy!
But enough of that. This is a little something I made because I knew it would be quick, and given my short tolerance of working on things I figured one-shots are definitely going to be the way to go. Also: poking fun at crazy video game genes is always amusing. I used the PSP/Wii TAY sprites for this, as that is what I'm used to. It ended up rather short, unfortunately. (-.-')
Hope you all liked it!
