Lucy's underground,
She's got a mouth to feed
Am I underground,
Or am I in between
She hated the way she looked. She wasn't supposed to look like that, she thought, examining her own reflection. She stopped when she noticed the disgusted look on her face. She hated her body. And she hated herself for that.
Lucy's underground,
She's got a mouse to feed
Am I underground,
Or am I in too deep
Sometimes she could still hear the kids chanting 'Lucy Caboosey'. She still remembered all the recesses spent crying in the bathroom. She didn't have any friends. Why did they have to be so mean to her? She was sure she wouldn't have been half as mean herself if they hadn't done that. But 'kids are just kids', her father had told her. She was just a kid too when she first became a bully.
Show me love,
You've got your hand on the button now
Sure enough,
You've got your hand on the button now
It was the first time she'd heard them arguing. She couldn't understand a thing they were yelling until 'Lucy Caboosey' was bitterly spat out by her father. They call her Lucy Caboosey. (It never hurt that bad when it came from the kids.) She'd never forget her mother's look of disgust, same as her own. She knew 'kids were just kids', but what were adults then? It never hurt that bad..
Lucy's underground,
She's never coming back
Am I still alive,
Or has the light gone black
She decided to start ballet, that's when she began losing weight; she gained some confidence back. (Some of daddy and mommy's love back, too). She later found out that she was actually rather athletic; she joined gymnastics and cheerleading. She still wasn't as pretty as all the other girls, but she knew she was getting there. She started some treatment for her acne and her mother was excited about it. That's when her father got transferred and got a raise in the process. That's when she asked for it. The thing that will make her go from Lucy to Quinn.
Take me underground,
Take me all the way
Bring me to fire,
Throw me in the flames
She never meant for it to happen. But she had wanted to be head cheerio, she had wanted to be popular -and loved- for so long. So she ordered the first slushy to ever be thrown at Rachel soon-to-be-shivering-in-corn-syrup Berry. It was never personal. She just needed to be Quinn from then on.
So show me love,
You've got your hands on the button now
Sure enough,
You've got your hand on the button now
She woke up, suddenly. She didn't realize she'd fallen asleep while thinking. She really needed to stop falling asleep with her iPod on. But then she heard it. It was Lucy's voice, not her own. It kept repeating the same words, more like.. Was she singing? When she understood the words, she knew it'd be the last time she'd hear Lucy's voice.
I'd rather die
Than to be with you.
A/N: I don't know what that was either! Lol. I don't understand the real meaning of the song, but whatever, I love it. You should listen to it, it's When I'm Small by Phantogram, yet again.. Thanks for reading.
