Naruto belongs to Masashi Kishimoto.
Scene: Valley of the End
Sasuke stood over Naruto's unconscious form, the thunderous sound from the waterfall behind him filling his ears. He knew he should get going, Orochimaru was probably tired of waiting. Even after placing his scratched forehead protector beside Naruto, something was pulling him back. He took one step, two steps away. And couldn't resist the impulse to go back.
He turned resolutely. One minute. He'd give himself one minute to take a last look at his best friend, Naruto, before going to Orochimaru. He planted both feet on either side of Naruto's waist, bending down to scrutinise the pale lips tinged with blue from the cold, the golden blond locks of hair splayed around his head like the Sun's rays.
He mentally sighed. Naruto. Always bubbly and obnoxious. He never would've thought Naruto would have such determination and drive within him. And what was with the red chakra, anyway? Was it some sort of hidden power?
Lost in his reverie, Sasuke didn't sense two approaching figures. Before he knew it, a hand shot up from the ground underneath Naruto's head, twisting it slightly. Sasuke was so shocked he didn't have time to react before those same, blue-tinged lips he'd been eyeing before were pressed up against his.
Somewhere behind, Pakkun was chortling with amusement at Sasuke's shocked expression. "Kakashi, Kakashi..." He chuckled.
