To Be Sakura Uchiha
"Akatsuki, go to the hidden leaf village and track down our little medical ninja and bring her home," Pein ordered.
The rest of the akatsuki disappeared in a cloud of smoke, leaving Pein alone once again. It had taken the village over two hours to steal her and now they were going to get her back. Pein sat in his chair at the head of the meeting room, silently watching as the hand of the clock ticked round and round. He wished he could have gone with them, but with his chakra levels so low from the last battle he would have slowed everyone else down.
"Hurry up, I need cherry blossom," Pein whispered, disappearing in a cold black cloud of smoke.
Pein reappeared in a dark orange room, it was his room usually warm and comforting. A place where he could forget everything end he could stroke her hair and hug her tightly. But now the room felt empty and cold, his heart felt like it was going to brake. He was going to collapse and die a slow death, before she could return safe and well.
Outside the Hidden Leaf Village
Itachi crouched beside his partner waiting for him to make the first move, Kisame never made the first move except when Itachi was badly injured or he was lost in thought. Kisame turned round to face Itachi and put his hand on his shoulder. His face as expressionless as usual.
"We will get her back," Kisame said, Itachi was caught off guard for a moment as his body began to shake an he felt forward on to his, tears gathering in his eyes.
"Kisame, what if we don't? What if we are too late? What if..." Itachi began, having to stop as the first tear ran down his cheek.
Kisame wrapped his arms around his small upset partner and pulled him into his arms.
"What the fuck are you two doing?" Hidan answered, from behind them.
Itachi pulled his arms away from Kisame and looked down at the ground, wiping his face clean of tears and returning his face to it's normal unemotional state.
"Kisame, Itachi, we have treated her," Sasori said, appearing in front of the three other akatsuki members.
"Where, let's go?" Itachi asked, looking up at Sasori and standing up straight.
Itachi followed Sasori around the village, until they got to the southern gate. Just inside the gate was Sasuke standing over Sakura's limp body.
The Hokage looked down at Sakura and sighed, Sakura opened her eyes weakly and looked up at Tsunade and Sasuke. Her chakra was gone ad she was shaking, from the cold on her open wounds and the fright f what Sasuke had done to her.
"Sasuke, I do believe that you were asked to bring her back unharmed," Tsunade said, her eyes looked at Sakura.
"I brought her back without the akatsuki chasing after me," Sasuke replied, leaving Sakura on the floor with Tsunade standing over her.
"Why did I let him go get Sakura?" Tsunade asked, herself, kneeling down next to Sakura and hoping she was mentally okay.
Tsunade put her hand on Sakura's forehead and pushed the hair off her face, Sakura had been her student no less then a year ago until she was 'captured' by the akatsuki. That is what she told everyone else other than her top ninjas. For her top ninjas she told the truth, Sakura had willingly gone with the akatsuki. Tsunade had been forced to keep Naruto in complete lock down for months in the Hokage temple. She had spent endless weeks drunk and crying herself to sleep. But for the sake of the village, she pulled herself together and become Tsunade the sannin once again. To now look down at Sakura's weak body was unreal, Sakura had no intention of coming back. She had left the village for good, Tsunade thought she would never see her again, but against all odds Sasuke brought her back.
"Sakura," Naruto asked blankly, noticing the pink girls hair lying across the gravelled ground as Naruto approached.
Tsunade stood to her feet, the anbu were meant to corner of this area of the village and Naruto was meant to far away training with Jaraiya.
"Naruto, leave," Tsunade ordered.
"Don't be mean to the guy, Tsunade," Deidara joked, standing at the gate along with Itachi, Kisame, Hidan, Kakuzu, Zetsu and Tobi.
"Akatsuki," Naruto growled.
There was complete silence, until a kunai flew past Naruto and Naruto, heading towards Itachi. Itachi didn't blink, didn't move even. At the last possible moment Kisame swung his sword out in front of Itachi. Before anyone could blink Itachi was kneeling on the other side of Sakura and then he was back where he had been originally beside Kisame, with Sakura curled up in his arms. Sasuke stepped up beside Naruto, kind of appearing out of nowhere.
"She needs help," Tsunade said, taking a step forwards.
With nothing more said the akatsuki was gone, Tsunade looked down and noticed Sakura's blood she was standing in.
"Stupid, Big brother," Sasuke replied, walking up to where his big brother had just stood with Sakura.
Akatsuki Hideout
Itachi Lay Sakura down on the kitchen table, she was shaking and every now and then opened her eyes to see Itachi staring back at her with his blood red eyes.
"Sakura, stay awake," Sasori ordered, Sakura felt him grab her arms and begin to slowly heal her.
"Guys hold her down," Itachi ordered, pushing down on Sakura's shoulders.
The rest of the akatsuki held Sakura down and Pein stepped into the room. The expression on his face was one that no one had seen before.
"Sakura, stay with us," Itachi ordered, Itachi activated his sharingan, then his Mangekyo and waited for her to open her eyes.
Sakura opened her eyes and looked up at Itachi, he caught her in his sharingan jutsu and trapped Sakura in his jutsu. He could sense that she had another jutsu, His brother's jutsu to be exact.
"Itachi, what are you?" Pein order to know, stepping in between Kisame and Deidara and taking Sakura's hand.
Sakura was shaking violently, but her eyes stayed on Itachi and Itachi stayed absorbed in hers. Suddenly Itachi fell backwards into the wall, panting hard and Sakura froze looking up at the ceiling and feel a strong hand around hers.
"Cherry Blossom?" Deidara asked, looking into Sakura's eyes.
They were dull, a greenie gray, instead of bright green.
"This is going to be hard for you Sakura, so don't be afraid to pass out," Sasori told Sakura, before he pushed his hands into the wound on her stomach and let his chakra begin to heal the wound.
Sakura screamed in pain and then her eyes closed and she passed out, it was nicer then when Sasuke had physically forced her into un-conscious but it still hurt. All the akatsuki took a step back and looked down at Sakura's weak body. Their hand were covered in blood.
"Itachi, thank god you aren't your brother," Kisame joked.
"Yeah," Hidan agreed, looking at Sakura.
"Kisame take Sakura to her room and then go get a shower, everyone go get showers.
Kisame put her arms around her neck and under her legs, then lifted her into his arms. Kisame walked alone down the hallway towards her bedroom, her hair was messily tied pressing against her neck. She looked peaceful, if it weren't for the dried blood in her hair and the way her skin was so pale, paler than his partners', Itachi.
As days past she began to gain her colour back. The only three people who had gone into her room were Itachi, Pein and Sasori (medical reasons). Everyone else had stood at the door and watched. Sakura opened her eyes and looked up at the ceiling, it was white just plain white.
"Pein," Itachi shouted, taking her hand in his.
Pein and the rest of the akatsuki ran into the room, Pein knelt down next to Itachi and wrapped his hand around in her other hand.
"Itachi, your brother he..." Sakura began her voice drifting off as she looked carefully at the Akatsuki.
"It's okay, I know he used second level sharingan on you," Itachi replied, looking down at Sakura until he saw her eyes looking back at him.
"I was losing and he used the jutsu, he used the jutsu and trapped me," Sakura said, as her body began shaking and her eyes filled with tears.
"Everyone else leave," Pein ordered, looking back towards the rest of the Akatsuki.
Itachi stood up from his position beside Pein and then walked out of the room, closing the door behind him. Pein's facial expression softened and he took her other hand in his. Sakura looked at Pein, her eyes connecting with his calming gray eyes.
"Are you okay?" Pein asked softly, watching her carefully.
Sakura nodded her head and looked carefully at Pein, she knew he had important things to do but wanted to be with her.
"Sakura, are you sure?" Pein asked, looking deep into her eyes.
Pein knew there was something else, but in her current state of weakness he didn't want to push her. He could read Sakura like a book most of the time, but not now not when he really needed to.
"Pein, I'm going to get some rest," Sakura said, taking her eyes from Pein and pulling her hands from his.
Pein quietly stood up and left. Sakura lay down on the bed, looking at the blank white walls, she had lied and now all she had to do was destroy it. Destroy the little being that she held inside of her. But how could she, this baby was an Uchiha. A child of the Uchiha clan. If it was Itachi's she would keep it no questions, but it isn't it's either Madara's or Sasuke's.
Flashback
Hold her down," Madara ordered.
Sakura squirmed in his grip and felt four strong hands holding her down, she couldn't have escaped before and now with Sasuke holding her down as well there was no chance.
"Madara, can I try?" Sasuke asked.
Madara pulled Sakura's hands above her head and put his hand firmly on her stomach. Sakura screamed as chakra was forced into her body, as all her defences came crashing down. The next thing she knew was her body was in Sasuke's arms, her stomach twisting in pain and a sharp pain between her legs.
End Flashback
Sakura opened her eyes and rolled over in bed, her injuries were nowhere near healed but she was starting to fell better. She got up and walked into the bathroom closing the door behind her, she striped of her clothes, turned on the shower and stepped inside. The water was warm against her bruised body, then she saw it. She saw the two words carvered into her back, she turned her back towards the mirror and quickly turned off the water and tried to step out of the shower. She raised her foot off the ground and set it down on the small bath mat at the foot of the shower. She turned round and there were the two words carefully writing on her back.
"Uchihas' Whore,"
Sakura turned away from the mirror and leant against the wall, she slid down the wall and sat in the corner of Pein's and her shared bathroom. If she could have she would have called for help, but her weak body was too weak and not responding properly. It was almost two hours later before Pein walked into the bathroom to find Sakura sitting in the corner of the room with her knees pulled tightly to her chest and her bare body shivering from the cold that now invaded the whole bathroom. Pein opened his eyes wide and looked at his little cherry blossom. She had been broken, her spirit, her self respect and her will to live. Pein was at her side no less then a second and pulled her into his arms, his akatsuki cloak wrapped around her, so she could at least be covered. Pein ran his hand along Sakura's back and felt the cuts on her smooth skin. Leaning back ,still keeping Sakura in his arms and pulled the cloak from covering her back. His eyes widened and he once again pulled her so close. How dare he hurt her and now he is going to pay.
"Sakura, I need to know what happened," Pein said, he needed to know.
Sakura shook her head.
"Sakura's it's okay just tell me," Pein replied, he felt Sakura once again move her head.
"Okay then, I will have to go get Itachi to read your mind," Pein said, he hated the idea but he knew if something could have done this to her of all people there was a huge problem.
Pein stood up with Sakura still wrapped in his arms, he pulled her to her feet and unsteadily grabbed one of his t-shirts he had left in the bathroom. It was clean but Sakura would still be able to smell him on it. Sakura pulled on some of her small black shorts and Pein walked with her towards the living room. She kept her eyes on the floor and was careful not to show any emotion.
"Itachi, read her mind," Pein ordered, Itachi looked up from his book with an eye brow raised.
"Why?" Itachi asked, he was fine with reading other people's minds but not Sakura's.
"Itachi, just do it," Pein shouted, losing his temper.
"Pein, give me a good reason or I'm not doing it," Itachi replied, Sakura gave a small weak smile and looked up at Pein.
"Sakura, jump," Pein ordered, holding Sakura by the waist and helping her sit on the table.
Sakura crossed her arms across her chest and kept her eyes trained on the floor. Pein pulled his shirt up from the back, until it was over the two words. Deidara and Sasori stopped what they were doing, Kisame stood up from his chair and headed over along with the rest of the akatsuki. Sakura stayed as still as she possibly could as the akatsuki observed Sakura's back.
"He has gone too far," Itachi said, the anger clear in his voice.
"No, they," Sakura whispered, the Akatsuki's eyes widened even more than before and everything seemed to stop for a second.
"Madara and Sasuke," Itachi replied, Sakura gave a single nod and closed her eyes, and reached up to the bottom of Pein's shirt she was wearing and pulled it down.
"Sakura, I know this might be a strange question, but were your defences up?" Itachi asked, the rest of the akatsuki glared at him.
"Not appropriate for the time, Itachi," Kisame said, knowing exactly where the question was headed.
"It is appropriate and the answer is no," Sakura answered, her eyes not shifting from the floor.
Itachi looked at Sakura's back and then took a step back.
"Sakura, what are you going to do?" Itachi asked, Sakura looked up and twisted her body towards him.
"I want to destroy it, but I don't know," Sakura replied, in many ways she couldn't believe she was having this conversation with Itachi in front of the rest of the Akatsuki.
"Destroy what?" Deidara asked.
The rest of the akatsuki looked towards Deidara and shook their heads.
"Sakura, is pregnant," Sasori said, hitting his younger teammate on the back of his head.
"Akatsuki, get yourselves ready, we are heading out in ten minutes," Pein ordered.
"No," Sakura replied, grabbing Pein's arm tightly.
Pein just stared down at her.
"Please don't go," Sakura begged, looking like a child in her big brother's clothes begging for him to stay with her.
"Pein, she is still really weak. If we leave her alone and something happens you would never forgive yourself," Sasori said, going on Sakura's side because she was right and two he was the one looking after Sakura.
He was Sakura's temporary medical ninja and he always remembered what Sakura would always do. Sakura treated each patient with the small respect she wanted them to treat her with, but above all else she would save them if she could. It didn't matter who they were, she proved that when she healed Itachi for the first time after he kidnapped her. Sasori sighed and closed his eyes, hoping he would do what was best for Sakura and not himself.
"Sakura..." Pein said, shaking his head and losing his voice.
"Pein, I need to talk to Itachi. Go off and train like you usually do," Sakura said, sliding over the table and landing on the floor with a sharp pain in her side.
"Sakura, are you okay?" Sakura asked, standing up reasonable straight and looked up at Pein.
Pein didn't want to leave Sakura's side, but he knew he had to. Pein tried to calm himself down and followed the rest of the akatsuki outside. He didn't want to leave Itachi alone with his Sakura, after all he was an Uchiha and he could hurt her too.
"Follow me," Sakura ordered, Itachi followed her down the dark hallway and towards Pein's and her shared room.
"Sakura stop, I can't go in Pein's room," Itachi said, stopping and waiting for Sakura to respond.
"Where do we go then?" Sakura asked, she knew there was too other options and didn't want to say either of them.
Itachi grabbed the door handle he was stood next to, he turned the handle and pushed the door open. Sakura stepped inside as her fear ran down her spine, she walked to the foot of the bed and waited for Itachi to come in. Itachi stood outside looking in on Sakura, her eyes drifted to Itachi's feet as he took a step towards her. During the night Kisame entered Itachi's room and sat down on the bed beside Sakura, leader had sent him in here to watch her. It was a cold night so Kisame pulled a blanket over her to stop her from shivering. She slept through the night and Kisame got used to hearing her constant breathing from across the room. When morning came round Kisame was sat in the seat quietly watching her as she opened her eyes and looked towards him.
"Good morning," Kisame greeted.
"Good morning, Kisame," Sakura greeted.
Kisame rolled his eyes as Sakura pulled herself from the bed and stepped on to the cold floor. Kisame stood up from his seat and began walking towards the door, Sakura followed him. They walked down the hallway and into the main living area. Kisame walked into the kitchen and began to fry some fish, while Sakura took a seat in between Pein and Itachi at the kitchen table.
"What?" Sakura asked, Pein and Itachi both looked at her.
Pein curled his arm around Sakura's waist and kissed her lips.
"Get your hands off the mother of my child," Itachi ordered, looking down at his book he was reading.
"You do remember, I'm the Akatsuki leader?" Pein asked seriously.
"Yeah, a cold-hearted killer. Not an ex-hidden leaf kunoichi boyfriend," Itachi replied, continuing to read his book.
Sakura rolled her eyes and stood up walking into the kitchen, Kisame was standing at the stove still cooking fish for himself. Her arms wrapped around her stomach, as she felt a strange chakra there.
"Itachi, I don't feel so well," Sakura said, looking in Itachi's direction.
Itachi along with the rest of the Akatsuki stopped and noticed her colour had changed dramatically since she had stood up and walked into the kitchen.
"Kisame, grab her," Itachi ordered, standing up and walking quickly towards the kitchen.
Kisame grabbed Sakura's forearms, making sure she didn't fall over.
"Kisame, I'm not going to fall over so let go," Sakura ordered, pulling away from Kisame.
Sakura escaped from Kisame's grip and then her eyes closed and she passed out where she stood. Itachi appeared behind her and Kisame and Itachi held her limp body up in their arms.
"Not going to fall off," Itachi said, looking towards Kisame.
"Side effect?" Kisame asked, Itachi shook his head.
"Then what is it?" Deidara asked, Itachi had a blank look on his face and looked at Deidara.
"I'm not a medical ninja and have no idea why she fainted," Itachi replied.
Sakura opened her eyes and looked forwards, her head was eye level with Kisame's chest. Sakura put her legs firmly on the ground and stood up. Sakura walked warily over to a chair at the table and sent chakra to her hand and placed it on her stomach, a small smile escaped her lips as the chakra died down.
"He is fine," Sakura said, smiling up at the Akatsuki.
"He, it's a boy?" Hidan asked surprised.
"Yeah, another boy in the Uchiha and Akatsuki," Sakura said, Itachi's eyes narrowed down on Sakura.
"He's not going to be an Akatsuki member," Itachi replied.
"His father and his mother are, so he should be as well," Pein stated.
"Sakura isn't a member of the Akatsuki," Kakuzu said.
"She will be soon," Pein replied.
Sakura glared up at Pein.
"But I'm a weakness and you said weaknesses are avoided at all costs," Sakura replied, the rest of the Akatsuki knew that it was one of the few rules that kept them out of big trouble and now Pein wants Sakura to join an become a weakness for the whole Akatsuki.
"Sakura, you are having Itachi's child. After that you will be looking after him and not going on missions," Pein said.
"Then why would I become an Akatsuki member and put my son's life at risk…" Sakura froze.
She couldn't live with the Akatsuki; she couldn't ever let her guard down or see the Akatsuki. A tear came to her eyes, and then it trailed down her cheek.
"Where is Sasuke?" Sakura asked quickly, she had suddenly sensed something outside and she was starting to get worried.
"In the cells," Hidan answered.
"Why?" Deidara asked.
"Something is outside," Sakura answered.
"Itachi, watch Sakura," Pein ordered, heading towards the exit of the Akatsuki hideout.
The rest of the Akatsuki followed him, Sakura staying nearby Itachi. Pein unlocked the seal that covered the vase and looked outside; there was no sign of anyone except for a weak chakra signature.
"Spread out and surround the area, watch out for any strange things and capture the person," Pein ordered, as the rest of the Akatsuki disappeared for Pein and Itachi staying with Sakura.
A few minutes went by and then the Akatsuki returned with Kakashi. The Akatsuki made a semi-circle in front Pein, while Kakuzu and Hidan held Kakashi by the collar of his vest. Kakashi didn't fight it just looked towards Sakura, who stood between Pein and Itachi. Kakashi's mind raced with questions, but he held them back. His mission was to see if Sakura was well and from the look of her other from being pale she was. Kakashi had to talk to her, he had to ask if Sasuke had hurt her.
"Sakura…" Kakashi began, she looked up at him.
Kakashi looked into her eyes and saw how cold and dull they were, he opened his mouth to speak when Pein spoke first.
"Bring him inside, he can pass the information to Tsunade," Pein ordered, turning and heading inside.
Sakura and Itachi stayed on Pein's heels as he entered the base, everyone followed and Kakashi was kept hold of and surrounded by Akatsuki. They ended up in the dining area, Sakura sat down on the edge of the couch and waited as her sensei was forced to sit on the couch across from her. Kakashi didn't struggle, just keep his eyes on Sakura. The Akatsuki sat down around Sakura, keeping her safe from Kakashi.
"Kakashi, we have a message and request from Tsunade," Pein began trying to be formal about the whole situation.
"Yes," Kakashi replied, taking his eyes off Sakura finally and looking towards Rin.
"Um, how do I put this?" Pein said out loud, trying to word it nicely for Kakashi's and Tsunade's sake.
"I was pregnant with Sasuke's child, now after Itachi preformed an Uchiha jutsu the genes were changed now I'm pregnant with Itachi's child," Sakura said, looking at Kakashi as his eyes widened and looked down at Sakura's stomach.
"Sakura, you have defiantly grown up," Kakashi told Sakura, the smile on his face hidden under his mask.
"Kakashi, we will let you go if you one tell the Hokage about Sakura and two keep the Akatsuki hideout secret," Pein continued, looking towards Kakashi.
"I will keep the Akatsuki base secret, but only because I want to keep Sakura safe," Kakashi replied.
"Kakashi, take this just in case we need to contact the village and yourself," Pein said, holding out a small golden ring to Kakashi and waiting for Kakashi to step up and grab the ring.
Kakashi stood up slowly and walking towards Pein, Kakashi took the ring out of Pein's hand and brought it up closer to his exposed eye. The outside was blank (just plain gold), while the inside had the ten different symbols of the Akatsuki on the inside.
"What if I need to contact you?" Kakashi asked, looking down at where Pein sat on the couch.
"Send chakra into the ring and focus on one of the symbols, if you wish to talk to one person, just send chakra into the ring if you want to talk to all of us and think only of their symbol," Pein said, putting one of his fingers on top of his ring and waiting for Kakashi to put the ring on.
Kakashi slipped the ring on to the index finger of his right hand and a strange chakra surrounded him and he heard a voice talking in his head.
"Kakashi, I didn't want to tell you this in front of Sakura, but now I can. Sasuke raped her and then tortured her using his sharingan. She is emotional unstable and has the words "Uchiha Whore" caved into her back…" Pein began in Kakashi's head.
"What?" Kakashi shouted, in his head at Pein.
"Kakashi, we have Sasuke, but I can't give him to you. Kakashi I will leave Sakura with you for a few minutes, while the Akatsuki and I get ready to leave with Sakura and you," Pein said, disconnecting from Kakashi and returning to the normal word.
When Kakashi came around he was sitting on the floor, the Akatsuki were leaving and Sakura sat on the couch looking down at him.
"Sakura, I'm glad you're safe," Kakashi said, standing up and brushing himself off.
"I'm glad you're okay too, Kakashi," Sakura said, shifting in her chair.
"You should come back to Konoha," Kakashi said.
"Kakashi, we have talked about this," Sakura replied.
"No, you should be in Konoha for the birth," Kakashi said.
Sakura shook her head and her eyes drifted past Kakashi and converged on a small metal object sticking out from the wall.
"Why?" Kakashi asked.
"Kakashi, I'm not safe here. What makes you think Konoha will be any better?" Sakura asked, Kakashi was starting to annoy her with the go back to the village talk.
"Kakashi, please leave," Sakura ordered, calmly fighting the tears that wanted to come out.
"Walk me out," Kakashi asked, Sakura nodded and Kakashi helped her to her feet.
They walked to the exit of the Akatsuki base, Kakashi turned back to Sakura and a thought hit him. He could knock her out and run as fast as he could back to the village, the plan wouldn't work but it could be worth a try. Kakashi wrapped his arms round his former student and pulled her close.
"Are you ready to go?" Pein asked, Kakashi stepped back letting go of his former student.
"Sakura," Itachi said, holding out a scroll to her.
"What's that for?" Sakura asked confused.
"We are heading to the Hidden Leaf Village," Sasori said.
Sakura turned to face the Akatsuki, they smiled and each had their cloaks on. Pein helped Sakura pull her cloak carefully on and started running through the forest. Kakashi was leading, behind him was Pein and Itachi, about right behind them was Sakura and surrounding her was the rest of the Akatsuki. The travel took a little longer than two and a half days. It would usually take just over a day, but with Sakura in the way she is, they took brakes every half an hour just to make sure she and the baby were okay.
"Kakashi, why are they here?" Genma asked, standing in the gate way looking past Kakashi and at the Akatsuki and Sakura.
"Genma, go get Tsunade," Kakashi ordered.
Genma returned a few minutes later with Tsunade by his side.
"Kakashi, explain yourself," Tsunade ordered.
This was defiantly her, first she decides she will make Naruto a Hokage and start to train him the ins and outs the, Shizune went on her holiday and then Kakashi returns with the Akatsuki.
"Tsunade, can we go somewhere privately to talk?" Sakura asked, taking a step forward and looking at Tsunade.
"Uchiha house, I will meet you there in a few minutes," Tsunade ordered, disappearing in a cloud of white smoke.
Kakashi lead Sakura and the Akatsuki round the outskirts of the village, going completely unnoticed. They stood at the edge of the Uchiha house grounds, Itachi could see the house he was born in, lived in and killed his family in. Itachi went to take a step forward, but his body wasn't working for him. Sakura was the only one to notice and took hold of Itachi's hand and stepped between Pein and Itachi. Pein took hold of her other hand and they all took a step forward. The Akatsuki, Sakura and Kakashi sat in the main living room of the Uchiha house. Tsunade walked into the Uchiha house and was confronted by a sea of black and red, in the sea of black and red was Sakura's bright green eyes and pink hair.
"You have two minutes, before I send you out of the village," Tsunade said, leaning against the wall.
"The basic information of it is, I'm pregnant with Itachi's child," Sakura answered, watching her sensei's actions.
"Okay, why are you really here?" Tsunade asked, not believing with what Sakura had just said.
"Sakura is pregnant Itachi's child," Pein said, his tone was firm and serious that was just a bit scary.
"Are you going to get rid of it?" Tsunade asked, Sakura shook her head.
"It wasn't originally mine, it was Sasuke's," Itachi spoke up.
"The Uchihas' have a jutsu that changes genes of a baby, don't they?" Tsunade asked.
"Yes," Itachi replied.
"Okay then, for the following twelve months if need you may stay in the Uchiha compound and are allowed to go to the village to buy items and other things. When you go to the village it is best to henge yourself. As long as you don't hurt anyone in the village," Tsunade said, pulling out a scroll and quickly and neatly wrote down the rules and what the Akatsuki and Sakura could stay in the middle.
The Akatsuki signed each of their names, when Sakura went to take the pen from Itachi he stopped her.
"You are under 20 years of age," Itachi said, knowing that anyone under twenty are unable to sign for themselves.
At the bottom of the scroll Itachi wrote "Guardian signed for the under 20 years of age Sakura Haruno" then he signed his name and handed the pen back to Tsunade. Tsunade preformed a couple of hand seals and a red seal appeared on the page.
"See you later, the Anbu will be here within the hour," Tsunade said, before leaving with Kakashi and letting the Akatsuki and Sakura be alone.
"Itachi, are you okay?" Kisame asked, Itachi nodded.
"I don't mean to push you, but I...we are still tired and need to get some rest and ensure that there are enough traps around," Pein said, Itachi nodded.
Sakura sat down on the couch and watched as Itachi lead the rest of the Akatsuki outside and spread them out among the houses in the Uchiha compound. Itachi walked back into the main living area and Sakura was lying on the couch, she had been so tried and just wanted to sleep. Itachi smiled and knelt down next to Sakura. He stroked the hair out of her eyes and looked carefully at how peaceful she looked, lying there no defences or realisation who was watching her. Pein walked in the main house and saw Itachi sitting on the ground, Itachi had no idea anyone was watching her. Pein's heart hurt, watching Itachi with his girl.
"Itachi," Pein said, his voice shaky and almost unsure.
Itachi removed his hand from Sakura's soft skin and turned his head on the side, sitting there reminded him of when he was sick and his mother stayed by his side until he was better. Then he snapped out of it and began to turn his body towards Pein, when Pein was directly behind him. Itachi stopped moving and looked forward at Sakura and felt Pein's eyes looking down at him.
"Itachi, she maybe carrying your child, but she is mine. Her heart belongs to me," Pein whispered.
"I know," Itachi replied, quieter than Pein.
"Then get up and leave her side," Pein ordered, being careful not to wake Sakura.
"Pein? Itachi?" Sakura asked, her voice little more than a whisper.
"Sakura, go back to sleep," Pein ordered, that only made Sakura open her eyes and sit up.
"Itachi, may I have a moment alone with Pein?" Sakura asked, knowing this was going to arise sooner or later.
In no time at all Itachi had left the room and Pein stood in front of Sakura
"I'm your girl, you know that. But I'm pregnant with his child and he will want you to share," Sakura said.
"I'm leader of the Akatsuki, I'm not letting him anywhere near you," Pein answered, his mouth working faster than his mind.
"Pein...I love You," Sakura said.
Pein looked down at her and saw the truth that filled her eyes, she was still so young compared to everyone in the Akatsuki. The closest in age was Itachi, but being who he was he acted like a thirty- forty. Then after him was Deidara and he was at least five years older than Itachi. Sakura's eyes drifted down his body until it reached his feet, then she closed her eyes again and drifted from the world once again. Pein knelt by her side and leaned against the couch, she was so weak in her current state, but it just drew him in even more.
"Pein, go to bed," Itachi ordered, walking back in the room and looking down at Pein.
"I'm going to stay with her," Pein replied, looking at Itachi.
Itachi nodded and walked down the hallway towards his old room, it was strange walking through the house being unwanted by the village. Itachi entered his room and the first thing he noticed was the mattress was on the bed and his brother was sitting on it, looking out the window.
"You locked me up and left," Sasuke said, his eyes turning towards his brother.
"Sasuke, you attacked Sakura, I will not allow her to be hurt. Now leave before I make you," Itachi said, his voice quieter than normal but still firm
"Come on, Itachi. DO you really believe I'm just going to leave and let you and the Akatsuki live here, while I'm still alive? I don't think so," Sasuke said, watching as his brother walked over to his desk and picked up a bunch of papers off the floor and place it on his desk.
"Sasuke, I'm warning you. Leave her alone," Itachi said, looking through the papers on his desk.
"Itachi, Itachi, Itachi, don't worry. I won't hurt you yet," Sasuke said, sensing the anger flare in his brother.
Itachi's eyes turned to him and Sasuke stood up from his current place and began walking towards the door. Itachi stepped in front of him not saying a thing.
"Get out my way," Sasuke ordered, trying to step round his brother who held out an arm to stop him.
"Itachi, what are you doing?" Sakura asked, walking up behind Itachi and rubbing her eyes to see clearer.
"Go back to Pein," Itachi ordered, watching his brother carefully.
"I don't know where he is," Sakura replied, still looking at Itachi.
Sakura hadn't yet noticed Sasuke, but as soon as she did she couldn't help but step back.
"Did we wake you Akatsuki Whore?" Sasuke asked, his voice cruel and cold.
Sakura's eyes snapped up to see none other than Itachi, standing with his back to her and Sasuke in front of him. Her emotions began to raise to the surface, taking a deep and pushing all her emotions deep down inside. Sakura couldn't do anything, she couldn't cry, couldn't move, could barely breath as she watched the two Uchihas.
"Get out of here," Pein ordered, standing at the other end of the hallway along with the rest of the Akatsuki.
"Why should I?" Sasuke asked, Itachi grabbed his arm and took a step forwards pulling him back.
"Don't mess with the Akatsuki or Sakura, you may be an Uchiha but if you try to hurt her again, you will die. Then you will never be able to restore the clan," Itachi said.
Sasuke pulled his arm free from Itachi's grip and was suddenly pulled forwards by the action. Sasuke brought his knee up to Itachi's chest and before it collided Itachi moved away, standing over near the window. Leaving Sakura completely unguarded, regretting his decision dodging the attack in the way he had. Stepping back away from Sasuke, Sakura walked as he took two steps forwards her. Reaching her, Sakura raised her hand and punched Sasuke's side, with a chakra laced fist. Sasuke went flying down the hall, landing on his feet a few meters away clutching his side.
"Forgot about that," Sasuke said, looking down at his side.
"Don't worry Sasuke, I didn't hit anything important," Sakura said, looking over at Sasuke.
"You are certainly, an Akatsuki," Kisame said, a grin on his face.
"No, I'm Sakura Haruno," Sakura replied, putting her hand on her stomach and took a deep breath.
"Sakura, come here," Itachi ordered, Sakura began walking towards him when her head became fuzzy.
"Itachi," Sakura whispered, her body falling down to the floor.
Catching her before she could hit the floor, Sasuke was standing over them both in seconds. Smiling down at them, Itachi held Sakura close ready to move if he needed to. Hidan ran at Sasuke, slicing at him with his weapon, pressing his back against the wall Itachi waited until Hidan had reached him before he stood with Sakura in his arms and walked swiftly to Pein. Passing through the Akatsuki, Itachi set Sakura on the couch, before standing and looking back to see Pein watching him. Neither of the Akatsuki moved; noise from Hidan's attacks clear in the background as they stood staring at each other. Everything went quiet not long after, Itachi could feel his brother's chakra heading away from the Uchiha Compound back towards the village.
"If he threatens Sakura, you know what will happen," Pein told Itachi.
"I know, I accept that," Itachi answered, knowing that if Sasuke had hurt Sakura he probably would have killed Sasuke himself.
Lights snapped off, Sakura screamed before the lights came back on. Spinning round to face Sakura, Itachi knelt at her side, her eyes open and blood running from the long, deep wound that now covered her stomach. Akatsuki whispered, as they watched the scene standing in the doorway.
"Get her to the hospital...Kisame go with Itachi," Pein ordered, watching as Sakura was once again pulled up into Itachi's arms and taken away from him.
As soon as the three ninjas were gone, chakra began to leak from Pein, everyone backing off from the dark chakra that was coming from their leader. Darting out of the compound, the Akatsuki where headed after Sasuke's chakra signature, knowing that Madara would be somewhere near him.
"Sakura, stay awake," Itachi ordered, running as fast as he could.
Kisame had fallen behind, but he didn't care anymore, he just needed to get Sakura to the hospital. Stepping into the empty hospital room, Itachi set Sakura down on a bed the nurses had pulled out. Following Sakura and the nurses through the hospital, Kisame followed after then. In a room, Itachi stood at the back with Kisame by his side. Nurses called from all types of different things, until Tsunade entered, ordering for Itachi and Kisame to leave. The two Akatsuki left the room, sitting just outside the room, on the floor, leaning back against the wall. Not saying a thing, until what felt like forever later, Tsunade stepped from the room.
"Sakura's fine, but the baby didn't survive," Tsunade said, looking away from the two Akatsuki.
I small smile came to Itachi's lips at the relief of Sakura being alright, then a tear fell down his face.
"Can we see her?" Kisame asked, knowing that Itachi wouldn't be able to ask yet.
"Yes, for a bit," Tsunade answered, walking away to get a cup for coffee to help her in staying awake.
Standing Itachi and Kisame entered the room, seeing Sakura lying in the bed; her eyes partly closed .
"Hi," Sakura greeted, seeing Itachi as he entered and instantly feeling bad.
"How are you doing?" Itachi asked.
"Fine, Tsunade said as long as I rest, I will be fine," Sakura replied.
"That's good," Kisame said, a few seconds after Sakura was finished.
"Can we have a moment alone?" Itachi asked, looking towards Kisame.
Kisame left the room, walking down the hall, to get a cup of coffee to keep him awake. Itachi waited until he was out of hearing range and turned to Sakura.
"Sakura, do you love Pein?" Itachi asked, looking at her eyes carefully.
"Yes, why?" Sakura asked, not knowing where he was going with this.
"Because..." Itachi began, as the rest of the Akatsuki entered the room.
Pein walked to her side beside Itachi, the others scattered around them and looked at Sakura.
"We are worried about you," Sasori said, watching Sakura give a weak smile.
"I'm sorry, Itachi," Sakura apologised, hating that she had lost his baby.
A serious expression filled Sakura's face, as a serious mood fell over the room.
"It wasn't your fault," Itachi said, turning and leaving the room without another word.
Itachi walked down the hallway, round the corner and into a strange area of the floor, which no one else was currently on. Sliding down against the wall, Itachi watched as his hands shook in front of him and tears seemed to pour from his eyes. Damn Sasuke, he ruined the only chance Itachi had to have a family once again. Itachi thought, before he heard someone walk up the hallway near him. Wiping the tears from his face and tried to stop his hands from shaking. Pein walked round the corner and saw Itachi, in the what must have been coldest and darkest area of the hospital. He knelt down in front of Itachi, Itachi looked up . He may be sad, but wasn't going to let his leader know.
"Itachi, over the years you have never shown much emotion. But when you are with her, she has seen how sweet and kind you can be and I can see how you are both tearing yourselves about what happened," Pein said.
"Pein, can you please just go away," Itachi repeated, he was not in a mood for talking.
"Itachi, you better look after her," Pein said, a confused look covered Itachi's face for a second then it was gone.
"Isn't that why you guys are here," Itachi asked.
"The rest of the Akatsuki and I are heading home. I need you and Sakura to stay here and restore the Uchiha clan with Sakura by your side, not mine," Pein said, he seemed heart broken by knew it was best for Sakura.
"But, Pein," Itachi began.
"Itachi, I can never give her what she wants. She wants to have a child, grow old and die with her children by her side," Pein said.
"That's no reason to give her up," Itachi said.
"Itachi, in the next few days I will be dead and I can't leave her with nothing, I have already took her you will look after her, anyway the Akatsuki the visit often," Pein said, standing up and leaving Itachi alone once again.
Itachi stood up and followed after Pein, walking by his side as they arrived at Sakura's room. Pein and Itachi stood in the doorway looking into the room. Tsunade and Kisame where back in the room as well as all Sakura's close friends from the village where gathered round. The room filled with happiness and laugher, everyone's but Sakura's. Pein walked through the crowd until he reached Sakura, wrapping her arms around Pein as he pulled her to him. Leaning her head into him, everyone went quiet and smiled.
"Pein, are you sure about this?" Sakura asked weakly, tears were threatening to release her grip on him.
"Sakura, have a great life and I hope everything will work out for you," Pein said, kissing Sakura on the forehead and disappearing in a cloud of smoke along with everyone in the Akatsuki except for Itachi.
"No," Sakura whispered, Sakura through the covers off her and walked towards Itachi pinning him to the wall.
After holding Itachi against the wall for a few seconds, she broke down and dropped to the floor. Her friends watched as Itachi knelt down and took Sakura in his arms and held her close. Two weeks passed and she was always at Itachi's side except at night time. She had refused to sleep with him, but as time passed she slept in the same bed and eventually slept with Itachi. When the Akatsuki members came back, Sakura had a bad day, finally knowing that Pein was gone. As months went by Sakura and the Akatsuki were accepted in the Leaf Village as ninjas. Itachi and Sakura slowly bonded and have now five months after they decided to go out and nine months after Pein died now decided to get married and announced Sakura is two months pregnant. It was a long time after, that Itachi and Sakura found out the Akatsuki had killed both Madara and Sasuke the day Sakura had gone to the hospital. The biggest problem at this moment was how Sakura and Itachi were going to raise a child.
This in an old story, written many years ago, one day in the far future I may rewrite it.
