Live in Blackness
This story takes place during the beginning of Fracture (the 3rd book) and contains spoilers for Legacy.
Please review if you read this, it would mean so much to me and I'd even give you Sylvain as a present (mostly because CARTER IS MINE, but it really shouldn't matter :p).
BTW, I can't believe this archive only has 2 fanfics (including this one) so far. I'd read the first but sadly I don't know Spanish. If anyone posts something I'd be happy to read it! (Unless it's SylvainXAllie cause I'm just a huge CarterXAllie shipper even though Carter should be mine).
Anyway, as I've seen many people say, on with the story!
Her screams were too familiar in her ears. The way her name pierced through the terrifying silence.
She knew why she was calling. Why she was still calling.
Because she could.
She allowed her eyes to light up for a moment. Her heart raced as her feet hit the snow repeatedly, harder and harder with every step she made. The faint screaming of her name as if wrapping her like a cloak, keeping her away from the illusion the silence gave her.
"Allie-! Allie…"
The name echoed in her mind, and she held on to it. It was the only proof she was still alive.
She meant to keep it that way.
Bright pink color gave away her location. Her hair. Allie recognized it immediately. She kneed near her body and watched as her chest went up and down, a sign she was still breathing.
"Jo…" The word escaped her lips in the form of a whisper mixed with great relief.
She was not too late.
She will live.
A fragile smile threatened to set her features.
Jo will live.
xXxXxXx
Allie was continued to be haunted by those images even when she opened her eyes.
Jo…
She kept her alive after all.
She could remember it perfectly. The snow, her name, the smell of dust in the air. Jo's small, heavy breaths.
She cracked a smile.
The curl of her lips felt odd on her for a reason. Almost as if her face wasn't used to wearing her smiles.
She ignored the feeling.
It took her a while to remember – Jo stopped breathing forever ago.
Nightmares, even if she still had them, won't continue bother her anymore.
