'Kurt, I have to go now,' Blaine said. His voice, usually so confident and comforting, was sad and cracking. He said it with finality, though he hugged Kurt tighter still, wanting to transfer all his love and courage into the boy.
'I'm joining you next year,' Kurt murmured into Blaine's curly hair, breathing in the clean and familiar scent he'd grown to love. 'After I graduate.' Blaine pulled away, gazing at the Warbler with tears in his green eyes. Kurt's eyes were red and wet too.
'I know.' They heard a car honk at them, signaling to Blaine that he had to leave. He sighed, biting his lip to stop himself from crying.
'I'll go wherever you go,' Kurt said. Blaine nodded, not trusting his voice. He had to go now; he couldn't bear to look at this boy he loved so much for any longer. 'Blaine?'
He stopped, turned to look at Kurt, whose face was now wet and tear-stained.
'I love you.'
'I love you too. I'll see you at Thanksgiving.'
And he climbed into the car and left for college, not looking back. He couldn't look back.
