AMI-CHAN'S DAY
If there's one occasion that her queen loves while she on the other hand abhors, (detest, loathe, dislike, despise – she cannot choose a strong enough word to describe her repugnance) it's Valentine's Day. Not that she's against celebrations of love or of declarations thereof, because she's actually considered a romantic not only by herself but by all her friends; however, she always (yeah, every single year of her eternally long life) breaks out in hives that day. And just as one allergy attack starts to subside, to her misery, another scarlet envelope always makes its way to her already inflamed hands.
"Waahhhhh!" Ami screeched, dropping the blasted letter in the process of her hands reaching up to scratch everywhere again.
One would think, that since she has been living for a couple of hundreds of years, that everyone knows by now that she's allergic to those damn written love confessions. On the other hand though, shouldn't she be used to receiving them by now also? She was arguing with herself while reaching helplessly for an itch on her back.
"Heh? Another one for you?" Makoto asked, seeing her reaction thru the open door of her office. The bluenette need not confirm anything though, her scream was heard (*again, for the 5th time that day*) all throughout the castle. She decided to help her friend by picking up the discarded letter on the floor; and after checking that it's not from someone that could cause another inter-galactic war, discarded it in the paper shredder.
Yep, their subordinates can't help falling for them. And since they're stuck to all look like women in their early twenties, they always find themselves as inspiration to a lot of people; men and women alike. So when her dreaded day comes around every year, their offices would be flooded with roses in every hue, and heart shaped balloons, and teddy bears, and boxes of chocolates, and unfortunately, love letters.
"You know… The queen would probably appreciate helping you with those." The taller woman pointed at the stacks of sweets.
The other woman in the room nodded and was in the process of applying generous amounts of Caladryl all over her exposed skin again. "Yeah, she can have them all if she likes…" She answered absentmindedly.
"Really?"
Makoto and Ami both turned with the excited squeal, and saw the queen looking lovingly at the sweets on the table.
"Sure… Why not?" Ami answered, not surprised anymore of the queen's appearance, after all, she does tend to show up in her office every year to collect leftovers.
Usagi skipped happily inside the office and produced a huge plastic bag from her pocket and proceeded to scoop an equally huge pile into it. She peeled open a chocolate bar too while getting her bag filled. "We hab a dibnner blater ab the garben…" She told them, matter-of-factly, while munching on her free treat and watching Ami go back to sorting thru her mails and memos, but with a more careful pace this time around.
They both understood what their friend said, food in the mouth or not. The genius looked up and smiled. Trust the queen to organize something special for her friends every heart's day. "Yeah…" She agreed. "Venus told me earlier, after our meeting with the ministers."
And with the memory of the assembly, she began to search frantically through her memos for the minutes; trying to remember which minister she has to talk to for the taxation of some sector.
Her two friends took the cue. "Later then, Snowflake…" Makoto said partingly to her best friend.
"And don't work too hard!" Usagi added, after gulping down her candy.

Ami took in her surroundings and can't help but be awed. "How?" She asked, seeing that everybody was already waiting for her there: the king and queen, Chibiusa, the Shittenou, the inners, the outers, and even the cats!
The garden was transformed into something akin to a magical setting in a story book. There was a pond on the backdrop of their huge table and huge earthen pans were also scattered all over. These were filled with water lilies, from the really big varieties to the rarest dwarfs. There were orchids hanging from tree branches also and fireflies can be seen alight on the leaves.
"We knew how much of a stress Valentine's is to you." The queen said, gesturing to the set-up. "So we thought of cheering you up."
Ami smiled the biggest smile she ever had in a while, looking almost tearfully at everyone around her. They had put that much effort to cheer her up? She asked herself, and was filled with warmness she can't contain.
"Zoi-chan?" She asked, inquiring as to who organized this for her, knowing that the general has a soft spot for her and would really do something like this for her.
He answered with a shake of his head. He gestured at Makoto, who was holding a medium sized fish bowl containing a blue tinted water lily.
"Happy Valentine's Ami-chan…" The brunette greeted, transferring the fish bowl carefully to the smaller woman's arms.
"Wow…" She uttered, looking down. Ami can't help but admire her very rare favorite flower and the effort put into finding it. She looked around at everyone and her eyes began to water again; feeling very emotional and appreciative…
But…
"Can we eat now?" The two blondes asked at the same time, breaking the mood.
Ami had to laugh with that. She followed Zoicite to the table and sat on the chair he pulled for her.
Once complete, their attendants began serving dinner and two people even began playing violins as background music.
"So… Do you still hate Valentine's?" Rei whispered to her.
She shook her head. "Have I ever?" She answered with a smile.
