"Over there!"
"Get him!"
Reo ran, out of fear and because there was nothing else he could do. Left, right — Reo turned corner after corner. Suddenly, Reo ran into a dead end. Knees shaking, Reo pressed himself against the wall. Sweat dripped down his face, and as Reo wiped it off, he noticed his hand. Dark, black fun was growing on his hand. Reo closed his eyes, crouching at the corner of the wall. This couldn't be happening — not now! But it was too late. Reo could feel his consciousness slipping away. As the teen, with ragged clothes covering various cuts and bruises, shuddered, his hazel iris expanded into a blood red.
The crowd stomped through the alleys until it finally stopped at a dead end. Defiantly standing in the middle of the path was an Umbreon, with red eyes and glowing rings covering its body from ears to tail.
"Get out!" someone cried, but it was too late. A volley of dark matter erupted from the darkness towards the crowd. Screams of pain and splintering bones resounded through the acoustics of the alley. There was nothing left but shattered bones, blood, and pain. While the fallen men and women groaned in pain, the Umbreon nimbly leapt over the bodies, melting into the darkness. It looked back at the pile of moaning people, in interest and contempt, before scampering out of the village into the farmland beyond. The moon shone brightly as the Umbreon ran out into the night.
The black fox had been running for hours. Its ebony fur merged with the night air as the pulsating rings distorted the space around it. The Umbreon showed no sign of stopping, but it suddenly collapsed into the ground. The fox expanded to leave behind a boy, around 15 years old, unconscious on the grassy plain. A white and green figure with blades for arms emerged from the darkness to peer at the young teen. The Gallade gingerly picked the sleeping boy in its arms before allowing the shadows to cover him and walking away.
"Did you get him?"
"Yeah, I got him."
"Good."
"Do you think you can handle him?"
"What do you mean?"
"You'll see."
So yeah, this is my very first attempt at writing something. It's pretty short, since I needed some kind of intro to the actual story, so the chapters will get longer as the story goes on. Speaking of more chapters, I'm probably going to write another chapter if I find that people are reading this. So if any of you out there wants to try something new, then review and tell me if the story is acceptable or if I should stop writing now. . I dunno if what I write is good, so someone please tell me...
