Day 48...

The mating ritual of the Angel and the Hunter continues...

"Damnit, Cas! What part of this don't you get?"

"I'm sorry, Dean. Can you explain it to me again?"

"For God's sake! The—"

"Please don't use the Lord's name in vain, Dean."

"I'll talk however I want to talk! Now look, Connecticut Avenue costs $120, right?"

"Yes."

"Do you want to buy it or not?"

"I don't know."

"Cas!"

"... Dean?"

I'm unsure how much more I can take.

Day 51...

It appears the Angel has cornered the Hunter into revealing his importance in this mission...

"Dean, do you need me?"

"Of course we do, Cas. You're a badass angel. We can't exactly do this without your help."

"Okay."

"Why'd you ask?"

"Sam told me to."

That was not as profound as I had hoped.

Day 59...

The Hunter is actually giving the Angel advice. About what, I have yet to ascertain...

"Sound good, Cas?"

"Yes."

"You want to elaborate a little bit?"

"Yes, Dean. I think it sounds good."

"But what about it, exactly?"

"I'm not sure. I don't understand much of it."

"What do you mean?"

"Why exactly is she shaking him?"

"Really? That's your question?"

"Yes."

"You have no idea what it's about, do you?"

"No."

I shall choose not to read too far into the song the Hunter was showing the Angel.

Day 71...

The mating ritual has come to a stand-still. The Angel hasn't been seen in days. It's possib—the Angel!

"Dean."

"Cas? Cas!"

"Dean... nngh... Help me..."

"Sammy, get the medkit!"

Day 73...

The Angel is finally awake. The Hunter has not left his side. He hasn't slept, he hasn't eaten...

"You sure you're okay, Cas?"

"Yes, Dean. I am feeling a little better. Thank you."

"Don't mention it. What the hell happened anyway?"

"I was going to stakeout a warehouse I believed held recent demon activity. I was not wrong. Unfortunately, there were angels everywhere."

"Cas, you've been gone almost a week."

"Yes."

"No, you're not giving me a one-word answer about this! Are you telling me those winged bastards had you for a week?"

"I suppose so."

"Cas..."

"Dean..."

I find it may be in everyone's best interest if I slip out quietly.

Day 74...

Something is different about the Angel and the Hunter...

"Cas, are you sure you should be up and walking?"

"How else would I get around, Dean? My wings are too damaged to fly."

"No, I mea—nevermind. You're okay?"

"Yes."

"Well, alright then. But you're staying with us for a few days, at least. Let's go get breakfast. I'm starving."

Perhaps not as much as I had thought.

Day 74, supplemental...

It is with this note that the tale of the Angel and his Hunter (or the Hunter and his Angel, if you prefer) comes to an end. Finally. I don't think they know I saw them kiss behind the diner this morning.

For the posterity that may find this one day, this may be added to the tales told within the Winchester Gospels. In fact, I insist you add it. Let it be known to all that Samuel Winchester, son of John and Mary, brought the Angel and the Hunter together. Let it be known—

"Sammy? What are you doing?"

"Nothing."

"Oh. Cas and me are going to get some beers at the bar in town. Don't stay up."

I hope they have enough decency to remove the stains from the backseat.

The End.
