It's when she helps him pack his stuff up at Granny's does she notice them, the drawings on his desk. There not just regular old doodles, they are the drawings you would find at an art gallery. What struck her the most was all the drawings were of her. When she looked at them it was like she was looking into a mirror.
"Killian, did you draw all these?" What else could this man not do, he could do everything perfectly with one hand than she could ever do with two.
His face was turning a light shade of pink, she wasn't supposed to see those drawings, they were his guilty pleasure, when he would walk her to work he had nothing better to do so he would go up to his room at Granny's and draw but somehow they always end up being pictures of her. "Aye, you weren't supposed to see them they're not even that good."
Not good? Was he fucking kidding these pictures were like a masterpiece and he did this with a pencil and paper! "Are you kidding me Killian, these pictures are how you would put it, bloody magnificent! But why are they all of me?" Of all the things he could've drawn he chose to draw her.
"Because you are the most beautiful thing I have ever laid eyes on and I needed to capture your beauty." Apparently he still doesn't know about the camera on the back of his phone she would have to show him that later on.
Never in her life did she think she was ever going to be loved like she felt now. If you told Emma Swan 3 years ago that she was going to be living a happy life with her parents, boyfriend, and son she might have punched you square in the face. Much less say that her boyfriend was Captain Hook.
When they were done packing up his stuff and dropping it off at the new apartment they headed over to Granny's to grab some lunch. "How did you learn how to draw like that?" Being Captain of a ship didn't really give him free time to sit down in doodle did it?
"Well, while it did take years of practice it was like my way to escape from reality as you put it, it made me forget about everything. I would usually draw all the places I've been to or people that I have met."
"Do you still have all the other drawings you drew?" She wanted to see all the places that he has been in his very long lifetime and this is the only way she could since there was no camera's back then this was as close as she could get.
"Aye, they are all on the Jolly Roger."
They spent over an hour looking at his drawings he would tell her stories about what he did when he went to those places and the people he met. He might have not known it back then but even in his darkest times he was still a good man.
Five days later the picture of her ended up on hanging on the wall nest to the Swan-Jones family portrait.
