I tried to block out the noise and go to sleep, but to no avail. The wailing in my ears and the bellow of the pounding rain ensured that I would stay up all night. I looked up at the window and saw a reflection of my eyes. In those eyes, Pools of ichor, that reflected the night sky, I saw the storm. Through those eyes, gateways to the cosmos, I saw the stars. And so I decided to listen. Listened to the wind howl to the moon. And I learned. Never would I have thought, that on that cold, rainy night that I would've learned something so paramount. That if you welcome the wind with two open arms, it will teach you. If you listen closely, you'll learn to breathe. Whatever the threat, whatever the madness. When you're at the end and can do nothing else, take a breath. The wind is with you. And so am I.
