The Humorous Essay
Me: Hey everyone! Some of you may be readers of my story Code: Guardian, and I realize how long it's been since I updated.
Kay-Kay: Tell me about it!
Me: Not now, Kay-Kay! For those of you who don't know, this is my little sister Kay-Kay. She's not even supposed to be here right now. Anyway, I'm really, really sorry, and I'll try to start updating soon! For now, please enjoy this Code Lyoko one-shot!
Kay-Kay: Oh, and the author of this story doesn't own Code Lyoko!
Me: Hey, I was going to do that! And didn't I tell you to leave already? *Throws Kay-Kay out of the story* Anyway, enjoy!
Ulrich bit his lip, trying to keep from laughing. He was remembering funny times in the group, and the one that had come to mind was when he and his friends had their first driver's ed class. Aelita hadn't been in a car much and had no clue what she was doing. Yumi charged through it like she charges through everything in life. Jeremie, being the genius he is, blew through the course in no time flat. Ulrich himself had ran over all of the cones and been really nervous.
And Odd had run into a pole.
Now, thinking back, Ulrich remembered that Odd would soon be old enough to get a license.
The roads would not be safe with Odd on them.
Looking down at his desk, he smiled, remembering his Language Arts assignment for the day. He was supposed to write a short, humorous essay. Biting the tip of his eraser, Ulrich finally thought of the perfect title.
The essay only took him a record-breaking 20 minutes. When Odd came in the dorm room, Ulrich asked him if he would proofread it. Odd took the paper from him and read the title aloud.
"'Why Odd Della Robbia should not have a license'?" Odd lowered the paper to look at Ulrich. "Man, that's mean!" Odd lifted the paper back up to read the rest. After a few moments, he handed the paper back to Ulrich and sat on his bed, sulking. Ulrich was trying to conceal his laughter, but failing miserably. Behind him, he could hear muffled giggles behind his bed. Luckily, Odd didn't notice.
Ulrich spoke first. "So… um, what did you think?"
Odd finally gave his opinion. "Not only did you say that I would be an unsafe and irresponsible driver, but you also said that I wouldn't be able to reach the pedals?" Odd got up and walked towards the door, sulking, "You're mean, Ulrich. Now, if you'll excuse me, I am going to the library to do my homework in peace!
"But you never do homework!" Ulrich responded.
Odd looked taken back for a minute, but quickly recovered. "Then… I'll go do something else!" He quickly walked out of the room, still sulking at Ulrich's comments.
As soon as Odd walked out of the room, Yumi, Aelita and Jeremie climbed out from behind Ulrich's bed, laughing. As they climbed out, Ulrich received high-fives from Aelita and Jeremie and a hug from Yumi. Odd was definitely the one person that could entertain the group without even trying!
The next day that essay got an easy A and lots of laughter from the class.
Me: Ulrich sure is devious! Review please!
