Olivia sits at her desk at a quarter til' two. Knowing she should venture home but scoffs loudly at the thought. Why bother there is not anyone there waiting for her.
Maybe she has been to fastidious, she thinks of Brian Cassidy and how he was good for her, to her and she threw away a chance at a life she so desperately wants. How is it that she became so wrapped up in saving others she forgot to save herself?
She heaves herself out of her chair and towards the restrooms. As she splashes the icy water onto her face she sees her reflection in the mirror astounded by the fact that for as haggard as she feels she still manages to look attractive.
As she wanders the halls listening to the sounds of the old precinct she realizes that maybe she needs to let go, move on, find a solution for the ache in her heart, for the child she so desperately wants. The tears slide down her cheeks and she sucks in a breath. Life is what you make it she thinks.
She makes her way back to the bullpen to gather her belongings and head home but as she enters the room her breath catches. There in his chair sits the one man who makes her heart hurt and flutter at the same time. He lifts his head and looks right at her a small smile forms on his lips, and her whole world begins to spin on its axis again.
"Wanna get out of here?" he says, as he holds his hand out to her. She reaches for him and laces their fingers together as he leads her out.
Only then does she realize while she was saving the world he had saved her. "Yeah," she says, "let's go."
