The post that morning brought two things to Harry's flat; a wedding invitation, and a letter. The wedding invitation had no return address, so Harry had no choice but to open the envelope. His jaw dropped when he saw who the invitation was from. Dudley Dursley and Cho Chang. His cousin and his ex girlfriend. Harry couldn't even imagine how the two of them had met. He continued to read the invitation. The wedding was in two months. "How long had they been dating?" Harry wondered.
Harry put down the invitation and looked at the letter. Again, there was no return address. Harry opened the letter and his jaw dropped for the second time that morning. The letter was from Dudley.
"Harry,
I'm sure you're in shock that you received not only a letter from me, but a wedding invitation as well. I would be too.
Anyway, I know we haven't spoken in a while, but I wanted to invite you to my wedding. Cho is amazing Harry, although I'm sure you already know that. She said that you and she dated while you were in school. Yes, that obviously means I know she's a witch, but I don't care. I love her to death and she's made me a better person. I'm actually making something out of my life because of her. Amazing, right? Mum surprisingly accepts our relationship, but Dad hates it. He's still in his, "I don't want anything to do with their kind" frame of mind. I banned him from our wedding. What else could I do?
I guess I'm rambling. Basically, I want us to become friends. We never really had the chance when we were younger. I'm hoping we can meet up before the wedding to catch up. Cho wants to see you as well. I've enclosed my address so you can answer...I look forward to hearing from you.
Dudley"
Harry couldn't believe what he read. Dudley was getting married to Cho and wanted to make amends with him...to finally be friends. Harry copied down Dudley's address and quickly penned his response.
"Dudley,
Congratulations on your engagement! I'm not surprised at your father's stubbornness, but I'm glad Aunt Petunia is at least supportive. I would love to reconnect with both of you. I'm on vacation this week from work, so if you can make it, that would be great. Give Cho my best.
Harry"
Harry gave his response to Aries, his tawny owl and sent him on his way. All that was left for Harry to do was wait.
