Because 'Echo' by Jason Walker is stuck in my head so I might as well write a small oneshot.

And so my red-headed, sharp-tongued companion said with the most sincere tone I have ever heard from her, "Why don't you ask her yourself?"

She was standing right there, just across the street. Even though she was armed with a gun, her smile made me sure that it was really her.

My Rose. My lovely Rose Tyler.

My heart skipped both beats. I was breathless. I never thought that I would see her. - It never even crossed my mind that I would reunite with her here.

My feet acted on its own as I start running. She did too as well.

Separated by an accident in time, she was the only thing I wanted right now. Her smile had gotten wider as the distance between us moved less by the second.

I was so near then it happened.

Somehow, she had stopped running. A shock plastered over her face as she looked right. I looked to where she was looking and had found out a wretched creature was moving towards us. The momentum I have built up was not letting me stop.

This couldn't be happening, could it?

My world has gotten silent as the only thing I heard was a war-cry that shrilled, 'Exterminate'.

A blue laser was cut across my chest, making my body spin from the impact and land on the hard concrete.

A figure behind the Dalek shot the robot in an attempt to save me, but he was a second too late.

Rose ran up to me, throwing her gun aside. Oh how I wish the damned Dalek didn't ruin out reunion. Fighting the pain, I manage to cough out a small, "Hello."

She smiled to me, holding the back of my head and responded, "Hello to you, too."

Oh how I wish I could kiss her.
