Kanda and Marie were sitting out near the beach, looking out into the horizon. They have been sitting out there for quite some time. The news about Daisya's death hasn't soaked into their minds yet. After awhile Kanda was able to grasp onto the news and just shrugged off any feelings that may have appeared. Time was wasting and they had to find the General as soon as possible. It wouldn't do any of them good to have emotions getting in the way of their search.
Kanda stood up, sighing as he was dusting off his exorcist coat. He turned his gazed over to Marie, who sat staring out into the open waters of the sea with empty eyes. Kanda glanced down, closing his eyes as he put a hand on mugen.
"We should head off now," Kanda said calmly.
No reply game from the older, taller man.
"Marie," Kanda called out to him again, opening his eyes to glance at him. "Come on now. We have to find the General."
Nothing. This was starting to make Kanda rather angry. "Marie?" He called with growing annoyance.
"… I can't believe he's gone…" Marie barely whispered out.
Kanda simply stared at the man with cold eyes. "Marie, don't you dare start this shit," he hissed. "You know we have a mission to complete. Don't let stupid emotions get in the way."
"How can you say that? He was a friend Kanda…"
"…Marie, he was nothing more then a solider fighting in the war. You should know something like this would happened eventually!" Kanda spat out angrily quickly turning around so he wasn't staring at Marie anymore. "You're a fool for ever considering Daisya a friend."
"You never once considered him a friend?"
Kanda froze in his spot, not replying to Marie. He only clenched his fist tightly until his hands were white and bloody from nails digging into skin. After awhile Marie heard and understood Kanda's short answer.
"Shut up."
