The wind blew the falling snowflakes into young Matthews face as he looked up at the clouded sky. His eyes were wide and curious this was the first time he had seen snow. "Papa, what are these white things?" the young colony asked as he looked back at his father. Francis smiled as he took the boy into his arms, "It's called snow. And the things falling from the sky are snowflakes Mathieu, they're little ice crystals." Francis held his hand out letting a few of the snowflakes land on his hand, in seconds they had melted. "See? They melt quickly, but each one is unique, no two are a like. Kind of like my dear Mathieu no one else is just like you." Francis said smiling. "Wow." Matthew said as he looked upward with wide eyes. From that day he knew he'd always love the snow.

"Come outside with me!" Matthew begged his newly found boyfriend. "It's snowing and I want to go out." Francis sighed as he looked up from his wine glass "Then go outside."

Matthews lips formed into a frown "I want you to come with me. It won't be the same without you." The young man pouted a little he leaned across the table and made his best puppy dog eyes, "Pleeeaaasssee!" Francis's blue eyes looked at Matthew, that face could melt your heart. Ever since Matthew was a young boy Francis could never resist the puppy dog eyes. "Fine, get a coat on and lets go."

The young Canadians eyes lit up and he grinned, "Yay! Thank you so much!" Matthew ran to get his coat from its place by the door he slipped it on and then pulled his boots on over his feet.

"Ok I'm ready!" Francis walked out from the kitchen and grabbed his coat as well slipping it on and pulling his own boots on over his socks.

"Alright then come on." Matthew grinned he grabbed Francis's hand and opened the door pulling him outside.

The snow was up to Francis's shins as they stepped outside, instantly the cold hit him. Francis was not a winter person in fact he hated the snow and the cold, but he'd do anything to make his little Canadian happy. The grip on Francis's hand loosened as Matthew looked around and grinned, it was all so beautiful to him. The newly fallen snow seemed to sparkle, all the icicles hung from the trees and anywhere else they could cling, and everything around him seemed to be white. Running Matthew giggled and jumped into the snow leaving Francis behind.

A grin spread across Francis's face as he watched Matthew begin to make a snow angel, small giggles could be heard from the young mans lips as he stood up to look at his creation. He then looked over at Francis with those pretty violet orbs and motioned for Francis to come over.

"Come on." Matthew spoke sweetly.

The French man began to walk over to the young man. When he was not even eight feet away he felt Matthew tackle him to the ground and down into the snow.

Francis let out a small squeal of surprise as they both landed in the snow. Matthew giggled, "I finally got you in the snow!"

Bright blue eyes looked up at Matthew and Francis smiled as he wrapped his arms around the Canadians waist. "Yep you sure did."

Matthews face flushed a light pink and he smiled. "I know you don't like snow, but you were the first one to show me it. And ever since that day I've loved the snow. It's special to me, and now every winter I want to spend the first snow fall with the person who is even more special to me."

A bright pink flushed across Francis's cheeks and he smiled. "Mathieu, your special to me as well. Your the only thing I'll ever want or need." he brushed his lips against Matthews cheeks and he whispered, "Never forget that."
