Lily Evan sat alone in her compartment on the Hogwarts Express, staring up at the ceiling. About to start her sixth year, Lily thought of all the things that had happened in the past five years. Being made prefect, all the Slug club parties, those late nights in the common room with James, just talking. And… Sev. Her smiling face was exchanged for a sadder one, as she thought of her lost best friend, sitting somewhere on the train.

Severus Snape sat in a crowded compartment packed with people he only knew by sight. He was ignored like some kind of disease as the people in the room talked around him like he wasn't there. He leaned back and sighed thinking of all that had happened since he was a first year. Being in Potions with Lily last year, but her ignoring him like everyone else. Watching all the kids go to the Slug Club parties that he wasn't invited to, and listening to Potter flirt with Lily. Oh Lily. The girl he had loved and lost. She sat on this very train… Maybe even somewhere near him…

James Potter wandered the corridors of the Hogwarts Express, nodding to people this way and that, waving occasionally, but not smiling. His thoughts were preoccupied. He was thinking about his past years at Hogwarts, the school this train was speeding towards. He had had some great times. Meeting Sirius… And Lily. Getting sorted into Gryffindor with his new best friend… And Lily. Comforting Lily when Snape was being a prat. Making Quidditch…. And Lily. His perfect girl. Who no doubt sat somewhere on this train.

Sirius Black sat in a compartment with two of the three other Marauders. James had gone to look for Lily again. But Remus was studying and Peter was sleeping, so Sirius closed his eyes and thought of all the years he had spent at Hogwarts. He remembered his parents' shock when he was a Gryffindor, becoming Padfoot and the Marauders, making the map, and Hannah. And Charlotte. And Lucy… oh and that prat Snivillus. He was somewhere on this train… no doubt greasing his already disgusting hair…

Remus Lupin looked up from his book and stared out the compartment window. A young girl, probably a first year walked by with short spiky hair. It was bright pink, but before she was out of view, it was turquoise. He smiled to himself and thought back to all the things that had happened in the past years. Making his first friends, becoming a Prefect, his friends becoming Animagi for him… Things could not have been better. His memories were interrupted however by a knock on the compartment door. "Hello? I'm Dora. But people call me Tonks. Can I sit here? Everywhere else is full. Except for this one compartment… but the girl looked really sad…. I didn't want to interrupt…."
