It was a blur to him, really. He tried to lift his head, but everything in and on his body felt weak. He wasn't very sure what was going on anymore. There was a lot of red liquid though. He forced his crimson red eyes to look around.

He saw his motorcycle, well what was left of it at least. A car and a truck had collided into it. He groaned a bit to himself. He now realized why Cilan always tried to force a helmet on him before leaving the house, his head really hurt now.

He continued to look around, he noticed two bodies. Both had blue hair, both were very still. It was remarkable that he was able to recognize the hair color of either of them since their hair were both coated in blood, only a few patches were left clean. Their clothing was shredded, though they had both been in suits

Strangely, both their hair styles had been similar to the oldest of the triplets. Now that Chili thought about, they both looked like Cress.

Wait…

He gave it a moment of thought, even though his head hurt worst now due to the sound of sirens from approaching ambulances. Where had he been going? Oh, right, there was a meeting, wasn't there? It was a gathering of gym leaders all over the Unova to hear an announcement. He wasn't sure, Cress had been the only one invited.

He remembered that morning Cress had been getting ready to go, all nicely dressed in a suit, waiting for his ride. The occasion required formal dress, which was one reason Chili was grateful he didn't have to go. Not even Arceus himself could force the red head into such a monkey suit.

It was almost 20 minutes before the meeting, which was 30 minutes away, that Cress got a call saying his ride couldn't pick him up. Cress was irritated and was ready to call a cab before Chili intervened and offered to let him take a ride on his bike, saying it was faster then a taxi. Though the older triplet hesitated, he agreed and went with Chili.

Chili was notorious for speeding and trying to take shortcuts, and he had wrecked his bike a few times. Though, luckily, he only got a few scraps and cuts when this happened. But still, Cress almost begged him that if he was going to speed, to please take the main road to the meeting, mostly because Chili didn't even own a helmet and taking a short cut might have caused Cress to fall off the bike and break his skull open.

Sadly though, it seemed fate had chosen to do just that even with Chili being careful.

The next few moments were a blur to the fire-type gym leader as he was lifted up onto a stretcher and brought into the ambulance. He heard the paramedics say, "This one's alive!" before they closed the door to his ambulance. They gave him a pain medicine of sorts while inside which made him fall asleep right inside the ambulance.

When he woke up, he was in the hospital. Cilan was next to the bed, crying his eyes out. The green haired young man only lifted his head when he heard the bed creek, and stared at Chili as though he were a ghost. Chili only stared back at the youngest triplet. Not a word was spoken. Only silence was in the room as they both told each other silently that something was very wrong.

After a few minutes, Cilan stood up, telling Chili that he was going to get a doctor as he left the room. Though, if Chili heard him it was uncertain. He could only think about the words he heard before the ambulance closed and blocked him from the image of the wreck.

"This one's alive!"

Who was alive though? Was it Cress? Was it the other man? He wasn't sure. He was scared though. He was scared that his own careless actions may have caused him to lose his brother. What would he do if the trio became a duo? He tried to reassure himself though, telling himself that 'This one's alive!' didn't mean that the other was dead. All it meant was someone was alive, and seeing as he had only seen the two bodies, that meant there was a 50/50 chance of it being Cress! But he was still pessimistic.

The doctor soon came in, Cilan right behind him. He checked Chili out before sitting down beginning to tell him something very bleak.

Chili chose to tune him out.

Chili chose to tune out a lot of things that week.

It was until he and Cilan carefully walked into a funeral parlor that he had heard what his doctor had told him.

They had found two bodies. They both were very similar in appearance.

The one that had been closets to Chili and his motorcycle was dead. His skull had been cracked open and he looked just as horrible as other had.

Cilan had identified him as Cress.

The other was a young man driving to work that, who was taken to a hospital in his hometown.

But, Cress was dead.

Cress was dead.

It hit Chili hard as he and Cilan got to the closed casket. The body had been too disfigured to properly fix and show to the public. All Chili could look at was the black framed photo of the blue haired triplet. It took him a moment before he fell to his knees and cried out.

It was his fault.

It was his fault.

It was his fault.
